  1. Agreed, but hyperbole and jumping to conclusions are the norm on this site. Things are rough for Disney, no doubt. But the studio is nowhere near in enough danger that they could be shut down within the next 10 years.
  2. Perhaps. But legs won't be as strong as Puss in Boots because it's not a holiday release. Doesn't help that it coats way more than those other movies.
  3. So... those plans Iger had about leaving Disney after 2024? Yeah, I no longer believe he'll be gone by then. There's no way he can get all of the company's houses in order in just 18 months. - Numerous delays on the Marvel and Star Wars side - Disney+ is still costing them more money then it's earning them - The DeSantis situation - Their animated brands have lost their strength
  4. Batman was basically considered dead after Batman & Robin, but Begins revived people's interest. I think Superman Legacy will do just fine if the quality is there.
  5. WB made a mistake by trying to overcorrect the DCEU after BvS, but you're crazy if you think that Zack Snyder's Justice League would have faired any better back in 2017. Even if he hadn't left the project, WB was always going to keep Snyder on a tight leash after the negative reaction to BvS. No way they were allowing a 4 hour movie to be released in theaters. Didn't matter which cut came out back then, it was always going to pay for the sins of BvS.
  6. I fully expect to hear some casting announcements for a DCU project in the coming weeks...
  7. The Batman, with a 3 hour runtime and hard PG-13 rating during Omicron still made north of $700M because of strong reviews and word of mouth. If this is good, the crowd will come.
  8. No kidding: - Restoring general audience's trust in the DC Brand - Rebooting Superman - Being the foundation of the DCU - Clear the baggage of the DCEU
  9. Ezra Miller was a liability from almost every conceivable angle: Their legal issues and controversies made them completely toxic from a PR standpoint. They couldn't do interviews, advertisements, or any kind of promotional materials. Even going with the "general public doesn't know about Miller or their scandals" argument, that's still not helpful because Miller is not a well known presence and lacks the star power to draw people in. The last time we saw Flash in the movies was the much maligned Justice League where he was a secondary character. Not exactly a major selling point.
  10. Yeah. My optimistic prediction is that Elemental proves that the Pixar brand still has some strength among families and that it's an important stepping stone for future movies to be more successful. Maybe it'll have a second life on streaming and make some profit via home video sales.
