20 euros per ticket? What a robbery

@Sophia Jane I've seen you forecast for Spider Man 4, I'm a big fan too and I'm very excited to see Kingpin and Daredevil in action but probably also others from what I've heard from the rumors
But I don't know if it will do that much, especially not 20M here in Italy. Maybe 15M euros, we can only hope 🤷♂️

Overseas / global
This weekend, Haunting fell -41% in overseas holdover markets, steeper than its -25% domestic drop.
Haunting has earned $67.0M overseas and $102.7M globally, or 65% from overseas.
For comparison, Nile finished with $91.6M overseas and $137.3M globally, or 66% from overseas.
Haunting’s top five overseas market totals are:
- U.K.: $10.1M
- Italy: $7.7M
- China: $5.8M
- France: $5.0M
- Spain: $4.1M
I can't remember the last time Italy was the third biggest market for a movie over 100M WW...

The film has some psychological impact among viewers in Test Screenings. So far, 16 were conducted, all went unsuccessful. Though it must be the noted that there weren't any comments regarding the film being demonstration of American Military Power (which was the original disagreement earlier in June)
Ops I already answered to your other comment on the Japan page, in that case I understand not releasing it

It's official. Oppenheimer won't be screened in Japan.
Reason -
1. IMAX Japan says that they aren't confident enough to ensure the safety and security of audiences.
2. During #Barbenheimer Constroversy, Universal-Warner Bros opened a back channel door. I haven't received the full talk but WB said that releasing Oppenheimer is "fatal"
3. Confirming pt. 1, IMAX Schedule are fully booked for the year. (Until March 2024)
4. With IMAX Japan pulling back, Universal no more wanted to continue talks regarding the possible theatrical window.
5. There are currently spectations and rumours about possibly switching into BD/DVD release (which can be confirmed only after American Release)
Ah that's a pity, could it be because they listened a bit too much to those who complained on the web some time ago?
After all it's one of the best films of the year and never shows Japan directly, and obviusly also depitcs some American politicians of the time in a bad light, so I think some people would have liked it if released...

"Haunting in Venice" opened first with 2M euros, higher than the 1.8M of the previous and with better marketing and reviews. Let's see the legs now
I should also mention The Nun 2 which is doing really well and should outgross the first movie

I just watched Murder in Venice and I must say I liked it, better than the second and also shorter. In any case here it will easily gross more than the previous and I hope the rest of the world will follow
I also remember that at the end of the year Cineguru shows the highest grossing movies in the main cities and I can't wait to see the results in province of Venice, will it outgross Guardians of the Galaxy or The Little Mermaid? We'll see

Dead reckoning figs are based on latest update as of 15-Sep-2023. I have ignored few countries like Jordan, oman, estonia as MI5 only has these figs and wherever "k" is mentioned it means the movie has not crossed a million.
Will do the same on LATAM and Asia tomorrow!
Damn comparing even with the fifth movie? That's a lot of work, but it was very interesting 👍

If you look into deep level stats there were a dozen if not more markets where it beat FALLOUT. Despite facing Barbenheimer and losing IMAX and PLF. Issue is that some big markets it disappointed which tarnishes the overall picture. USA, China, Korea underwhelmed. Main thing is that WoM is good and folks will check it out on other formats than theatrical by the time DR2 rolls out. Franchise is in a good spot.
In Italy Imax etc is basically irrilevant but in any case it surpassed Fallout which was the main target
But unfortunately if a film have a good result in 90% of the planet but not on the two largest markets (which are as big as all the rest) the final result can never be satisfying...

From 17 to 21 September tickets will cost just 3.50 euros due to the return of the event "Cinema in Festa"
In june admissions increased by a good percentage but not enough to increase the expected box office, let's see how it does this time

Top three, because it's the same for Oppenheimer

The Equalizer 3 after 2 days is at 445k, I expected more since they shot the entire movie in Italy.
Barbie is now at €30.8m with 4.1m tickets sold
Oppenheimer approaches is 2nd weekend with €15.1m and 1.9m adm.
Ah I noticed something particular when I saw the trailer for The Equalizer, but my interest about it remain zero 😅
