    Not sure if it because of late-announcement that cause cinema a hard time to secure a print, Saturday have 55% more show time than Friday and Saturday PS more than double of that Friday's PS. Today's number is a bit boring and standard. The trend remain stable throughout the day, there is no sign of breakout but isn't flopping for a re-release either.

    rmb 15m as of 6pm local time, should have no problem reaching 20m on Friday. Saturday PS was already much higher than was in Friday at about rmb 9m

    looking back Titanic re-release $150m re-release total have become so monstrous now

    Interstellar and HP1 are the recent major re-release Interstellar Saturday's midnight show: rmb 130k Harry potter 1 Thursday's midnight show; rmb 260k Avatar's midnight: ~200-250k So I am expecting a weekend number similar to HP1 re-release

    They may mixed up local currency with us dollar. Although avatar is now the weekend number 1, the number still isn't very high in term of PS, unless they have insider news

    Harry potter 1 did about $30m in its last summer re-release, I don't think it is too crazy to think avatar can match this number

    Very tricky to judge the final performance based on PS . The film release date was announced so last minute that even some cinemas are complaining they do not have enough time to get prints and to market the re-release properly.

    why are you adding up 30-34 age group into 15-30?

    There are more dead people in India than in Sri Lanka in a day, therefore India is a very deadly place that people should avoid, per your logic

    What are you talking about? China's population is 4 times bigger than USA, this country must be terribly freaking wrong if they somehow have a smaller 15-30 aged group smaller than US population. In term of %, both countries have similar share in term of young population.

    Avatar is now number 2 on Maoyan PS for Friday although the raw number is still too small to "cheer"

    This film has a lot more potential if not everything crumbling down by Spring break last year. At least 170m total domestically

    Eternals may also get banned in Muslim-majority countries like Indonesia that give plenty of box office money to Marvel. But I remember Bohemian rhapsody got released here too, so should not be a big issue.

    DS actually gain in weekend box office for the 2nd weekend in a row. This is amazing since last week was a holiday and other holdovers experiencing some harsh drop

    Apparently Raya doesn't sing, is this still a princess movie?

    I just learned that Raya feature a Disney princess that don't sing! This must be the reason, I mean, what kind of Disney princess doesn't sing!

    And in Korea, Raya couldn't beat DS and sitting at number 3. DS have been in cinema since late-Jan. But things could improve over the weekend because the wom is actually quite good.
