  6. Apart from “Top Gun”, I suppose that with Japan release JW3 may reach 1 billion, “Avatar” is a lock, and I could maybe see “Black Panther 2” doing so, although I think it will experience a decline compared to the first one. Not huge, but still a decline. And that’s about it this year.

  8. I'd say $670 million is in the bag for TGM (I know I was saying it is silly), but if they push it more at the end of the summer, $675-680 million wouldn't be impossible. Now seeing BP2 trailer, I'd say $500 million should be doable. Avatar 2, somewhere in the line of TGM, but it's gonna be tight I think.
  9. Go and write anywhere that "Us" is a bad film. I dare you to try, and tell me the responses. That's why. I am talking about at least 4-5 real life examples, two of which are semi-prominent or prominent film critics.
  10. Thank you. You are just another example of what I was trying to prove. And nice wording too. I won't be commenting about this garbage or any other mediocre film you guys want to classify as "amazing", "revolutionary" etc. If you want to enjoy in bad films, knock yourself out.
  11. As an actual film critic, yes I am doing this. You literally can't say that anything is wrong with his films, even if it is. You are the living proof, just look at your reaction.
  12. So, a moderator wrote me the following: "Hello! We're not doing the whole you can't like the movie or your racist thing. That's just baiting people for a fight. If you want to re-post your disappointment about "Us" in a constructive way, please do so" Well let me respond here - this is basically both gaslighting and hushing me. Wtf? For my 34 years I've never encountered this. I said what I said, and I stand by my words. I didn't offend anyone, nor did I describe something that hasn't happened on this forum. Moderator can go through the posts and find how many times has happened that when certain members dared not to like a film that happens to be predominantly with African-American actors they were called racists. I think this is humiliating and rude to hush a person who just pointed out the fact how Peele's films are perceived and treated. It's not like it's a secret. But honestly F* this. If this is how you perceive and demonstrate democracy in the States, no wonder you'll end up with a Republican president again. This PC policing is out of control. The funniest thing is - nothing was racist about my post. I said that's usually how people get labeled after disliking his films - which happened in front of my own eyes couple of times, after "Us" premiered. And just to finish this all - I am a gay immigrant living in LA, and shame on you guys here for silencing people who don't think like you. So childish.
  13. Which amazing reviews? The first bunch are, but the ones that matter are about to come out, and from what I read they are saying it's pretty mediocre. And since Peele is so overrated, this will get a pc boost like it's a "masterpiece" from many, which is what they tried to turn "Us" into, another mediocre pretentious film that had very little to offer, besides the cinematography. But god forbid anyone criticizes Peele's work, because you'll be labeled as a racist immediately.
  14. I don't think this is hitting $50 million+, it's more like $34-38 million. There's so little buzz, and everyone who has seen the film (audience and critics) are saying it's his worst work, pretentious, interesting for the first 45 mins or so and then it falls apart. Pretty much what I thought it will be. I mean, if this is worse than "Us", my lord... But it will probably end up with making roughly $100 million when it's all said and done. No major releases in August will probably help it with legs, so I wouldn't rule out $110-120 million total.
  15. JULY 22-24: 1. "Nope" - 53.9 2. "Thor: Love and Thunder" - 21.1 / 275.3 3. "Minions 2" - 15.0 / 294.6 4. "Where the Crawdads Sing" - 9.5 / 37.6 5. "Top Gun: Maverick" - 9.4 / 634.7 6. "Elvis" - 5.9 / 117.9 7. "Paws of Fury" - 3.3 / 13.0 8. "The Black Phone" - 3.1 / 78.2 9. "Jurassic World 3" - 2.8 / 365.3 10. "Marcel the Shell" - 1.2 / 3.2 11. "Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris" - 1.0 / 4.3 12. "Lightyear" - 0.6 / 117.0
  16. I'm so happy for TGM but I doubt it will hit $670 million. I'm thinking more between $640 and $650 million.
  17. JULY 15-17: 1. "Thor: Love and Thunder" - 49.2 / 235.8 2. "Minions 2" - 25.1 / 261.3 3. "Top Gun: Maverick" - 12.0 / 617.7 4. "Where the Crawdads Sing" - 11.2 5. "Elvis" - 7.1 / 105.9 6. "Paws of Fury" - 6.8 7. "The Black Phone" - 4.6 / 71.3 8. "Jurassic World 3" - 4.5 / 359.2 9. "Lightyear" - 1.4 / 115.5. 10."Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris" - 0.8 11. "Marcel the Shell" - 0.6 / 1.7
  18. While "Top Gun" is pulling amazing numbers, $650 million will probably be the amount it will end its run with. $700 million is really a stretch. As for "Avatar 2", I think we're all going a little crazy here. $800 million? Is there really such a strong fan base + the new interest? To me it looks more likely to hit $600-700 million.
  19. Well, the word of mouth was horrible left and right (for a reason). I would say that the money it already made is a success, and if it comes near 1 billion, then wow, they sold a crap for a billion, literally.
  20. Boy did they rush that home video release. It is a horrible film though. Screenplay is beyond ridiculous, and I really came with low expectations knowing it was going to be a mess. "Fallen Kingdom" is a filmmaking masterclass compared to this rubbish. I am a big fan of the entire franchise, and even like the trashy sequels, but the major problem with this one is that it's a boring 2,5 hrs long poorly directed mess of a film that doesn't even address it's main plot as it should. I'm not going to mention the scientific and logical mistakes because it would take me an hour to type it all down. I just can't believe that executives read this script and said - "Yes, let's do it. That's it!". Always glad when a Jurassic project makes money, but come the f on...
