  1. And i didn't say Thor is gonna open with 50M because of Minions. I just said Minions making i don't know 60-70 M in the second weekend and not 30-40 can took something from Thor in some target. I was already thinking around 140M for Thor, no I'm feeling 130-135.
  2. Life is beautiful is a genius film. The way he tells that story is not problematic in any way, also Benigni is incredible. Taika is just an annoying actor. In the late years someone here in Italy is hating a little bit Life is beautiful cause american producers "forced" Benigni to end the movie with americans saving the people in the camp while in the real history Russians made that 😅
  3. Thanks to the very funny Minions and their at this point second really solid weekend (near to what we all expected for the first weekend) this is gonna make 130M if it's lucky. The most funny creatures won, sorry Taika.
  4. I know Jen Law got already an Oscar nominee but you can say she was famous before Hunger Games. Also Liam Hemsworth screams CW teen drama show, those al least are from an Emmy winning tv show.
  5. They are doing screenings every day since 3 days ago. By far i read 3 critics opinion. One is really negative, he calls it a very dull romantic movie (but his name is geekcinema or something similar, probably not exactly the target 😅) and the other two are positive (fine movie). The reaction of the selected public seems better
  6. Some of those new clips look like "Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman are returning 15 years after as Thor and Jane in an high budget Super Bowl AD and they are about to telling you to buy an Audi Car". The setting is really that 😐
  7. It's always strange how their presidential family it's like a royal family where even children are so exposed everytime in public events while I don't even know if the prime minister in my country has a wife or not 🤣
  8. The movie should appeal to adults too with a smart "double meaning screenplay" but i don't think there is cursing or violence or nudity. So maybe not even PG-13.
  9. Have you read what are they supposing to release in the next months? Top Gun is already over Elvis, Jurassic World and Lightyear. It will be over Minions 2 before the mid of july. Other big releases are Thor, Bulle Train, and Nope. Even if it stays under them for all their lifetime (i'm not that sure 😅) it's still top 5 for all july and august. Then what you have?. Especially with a new re release with some bonus or whatever it can really stay there a lot. It's not impossibile, if it's not 6 months it's five.
  10. the point is from august the calendar of big movies is really bad so it's not impossible. Until october is in lock for me.
  11. Do you think a 20M second weekend with 4th July in it is possibile for Elvis?
  12. Rocket man made 13.8M and Mamma mia 2 15.1M. I'm expecting more for Elvis.
  13. In the Weekend Elvis made a +25% from Rocket Man first weekend. If the first monday numbers are confirmed it would be +60% from Rocket man 2.4M first monday.
  14. The Doja Cat original song for the movie is growing up day by day on Spotify. Yesterday it peaked at #39 in the global chart (first time in the top 50) and is near to the top 10 in the Us, peaking at #12. Seems like it could be a solid hit, getting chances for a Best original song nominee.* * it uses a sample of the original version of Hound Dog. I don't know if this is a problem for The Oscars and they don't nominate songs with samples or interpolations of other songs cause the sound is not 100% original. Someone know about it?.
  15. 6 months ago all the adult movies full of stars by Eastwood, Del Toro, Spielberg and so on failed to make 10-20M in the total run. So with this in mind the fact this movie opened with a pandemic record and with over 30m it's something in my opinion should be praised more here. All the news outlets are doing it and for a reason.
  16. You could have expected even 60M for Elvis, still a 31M open for a non franchise movie in the last 3 years is a record and pandemic or not a good start for an 85M budget movie. Cause again it can't be frontloaded as a franchise, especially the ones directed to young audiences.
  17. I read this is 152 minutes long. It is true? I don't know reading the plot and seeing the trailers seems unecessary. Looks like 110-120 minutes should be enough.
