Unless you live under a rock, you know the way of consuming entertainment has changed. Even if I want to entertain my child I wouldn't want to spend god knows how much on a theater trip. I could just open my Disney+ and call it a day. Unless there is a event film there is no need to go to the theater. That's why social media chatter is important now more than ever. It could make film a event that you can't miss.

Inside Out 2: June 21. -
Barely 4 million views in 20 hours, and the likes/dislikes ratio isn't looking good either. For a side character like this, I think the trailer gives away so little story to really spark any interest (to me) for me to care, they only showed me visuals but people already knew your visuals would be good, good visuals won't be enough to get people talking, at least show some proper story bits.

There will never be batman in Todd's jokerverse. There might be Bruce Wayne and they could fight in a non-action way (rich vs poor) but batman is a stupid idea in this universe. Even then I doubt Todd would even want to do this, it will be a drama heavy film instead of character study film like Joker is. Joker 2 in some way is still a character study, adding a class fight in it would derail the direction they go for.

It's for early screening so it's heavily fan decided, I would wait for official score before any judgement. -

Barbie confirmed, most definitely low box office, because it's in the same week as Creation of the Gods 1 and Advancing of ZQ (Shen Teng's in house comedic drama). Oppenheimer should face the same fate as well if it's also in this date. -
Yeah, that's better than having no work for these little people you care so much about. If they find it offensive they wouldn't accept the job and no one would force them to. I don't get why people are so sensitive these days, it's not even personal for them. Maybe, just maybe kids with this disability would think that they are being presented in a movie and feel seen. There are many ways to make these dwarf characters fun, meaningful and not a joke, but I guess avoiding altogether is an much easier way.

THE LITTLE MERMAID | 271.5M overseas | 569.6M worldwide

Can you name them and how much box office they have, and compare it to the Hollywood films' box office in Asia?🤔 -
Skin color discrimination here has complex history. For one, because China used to be an agriculture country, poor farmers are regarded as the lowest class in society and they usually have dark skin tone. For two, Africans who are black are the largest foreigners population in China in recent decades because of China's relationship with Africa, China gave them very easy access to China such as work and education, but their actual skill or civil level are way worse than Chinese people in the same position or education level. For Chinese students they have to fight like hell to get in a good university but then some random Africans that don't even know mandarin can too just because. And then some Africans who are not civil and polite enough cause troubles in big cities, gave the whole race an bad name in China. The whole thing is delicate and you can't just put racism on it and not see what really happened there.

Safe choices or wrong choices? If it's an entirely original black princess story it wouldn't have faced so much backlash. Look at Brave and Encanto, they're not monstrous but still pull decent numbers. It's Disney fault that they can't write an actual original diverse story with diverse casts. If they really are diverse like they're trying to do, the lesbian queerbait of Frozen should have been fully realized and we could have a gay princess already. I don't think we should blame the viewers for Disney checking the boxes only.- 451 replies

At this rate it won't get close to be an 1B film unless Wang's fans pull some K-Pop shit. Maoyan predicts less than 700M, with more and more theaters dropping it and switch to films that actually sell better, it might get worse. -

Walk up so far: Born To Fly: ¥25m Godspeed: ¥33m All These Years: ¥15m Terrible performance from BTF, possibly Wang's fan were boosting the pre-sale. -

Bad even for its standard, GOTG has never been a blockbuster level film in China, all three Antmans outsold or will outsale GOTGs. -
