i don't know much about japan but top gun maverick and rrr were 4.5 and 4.4 respectively, they do seem to go easier on foreign films right now the rating has dropped down to 3.9 as far as i can see demon slayer is 4 suzume is 3.9 wind rises is 3.7 spirited away is 4.1 your name is 3.8 that's..... whelming? I don't know, ratings on the site are all over the place as you can see and not that indicative of quality honestly I am a bit panicky because it seems to be falling pretty fast, it was 4.2 last I checked, then 4, and now 3.9 There a some early reactions on letterboxd from people who don't know japanese too

maybe, maybe not All I'm saying is that is output throughout his career for women has been extremely extremely subpar. I can't say he wouldn't be my favorite director if he was better in this regard, right now, it brings me shame to say that I like him I'm rooting for barbie, a film with memorable male AND female characters, the amount of people doing a double feature that they are staggering Sad to see that they will go from such a phenomenally balanced movie to a movie where women aren't given proper depth . Greta Gerwig is such a talented woman who has produced spectacular films and she is sooooo good at balancing this stuff, and then the amount of people going straight from that to oppenheimer, some of them are bound to be disappointed at how a man does things

with so less women and that too badly served I cannot really say that I am rooting for this film in any category I think the academy should be past rewarding films with poorly written or nonexistent women characters , it is shameful that such films exist in the 21st century Nolan should really really improve in this regard or else his legacy will be comprised of mocking him At the very minimum,he should get a female writer, female writers write women and male characters much better and are amazing with the depth of their thoughts

Didn't ethan have a lover? I don't think that the youth will like such a motorcycling personality rowing from one place to another There's heaven, there's earth and there's the woman you love , with your body inbetween them Do you think that more or less or equally opposite people will be affected by ethan spending time with Miss Atwell instead of stunts? Because the stunts are big but they need something else to bind the story but only the almighty knows the truth

Mate it literally won the highest honor for an animation film at the japanese version of the academy awards, all its reviews and ratings by notable media sources and audience websites are on par with most of miyazaki's movies also don't know how you can compare indiana jones 4 with its 65 metascore to an 80+ score It literally beat freaking princess kaguya, gintama, steins gate etc etc etc, it was an extremely strong year and it came on top I don't know the basis for your contrarian opinion

hmmm well that makes even the most uncurious person curious y'know what I'm saying? Especially since his religion is tied deeply to space, now tom cruise by himself is just a 60 year old man with a firm body but just how much more can he extend himself further and how much more can he become for a space film considering that he might like going to space? I think that action wise mission impossible 7 has solid reception but 8 might be even better because of how nice and fine he has been about it in the promotions But everyone always wonders if there is a youth factor left in the film that makes its ceiling be a true ceiling instead of a fake one, that is my view point on all of these things R rated film is a unexpected twist in the life of tom cruise that might give him a youth factor but more thots about that afterwards I guess, all I know is that R rated film might not make him extend further but will definitely have the youth pumping him

I think that if there is a cgi element to it it shouldn't have been a film about bombs y'know what I am saying? But anyways it is nolan so it should have a missing human element which is due to his soulless but amazing direction, which is quite to the contrary of the strong starcast so i think we can say that starcast will be essential to this movie, the actors in this movie will have a role to play in its quality, which is mindblowing truly especially for a bomb blowing movie

umm nah mate a shrewd businessman is the last thing I would say to describe him, having seen all of his documentaries and behind the scene featurettes He's just a highly successful grumpy grandpa If he had a shrewd businesslike bone in his body then he wouldn't even have made a movie like the wind rises or porco russo

my ranking of the series: 1. mission impossible:ghost protocol. such a cool name, tom cruise is so cool and the new characters were so cool . seeing burj khalifa on the big screen in all its wonder and beauty was really nice 2. mission impossible: rogue nation. the lady spy is really cool , great addition and great setpieces 3. mission impossible: fallout. the name doesn't make much sense but still cool, cavill was cool and tom was cool , 4. mission impossible: mission impossible. what can I say, cool classic tom 5. mission impossible 3 6. mission impossible 1

i think mr. daniel day lewis could retire out of acting for it honestly he has had a nice, controversy free, almost perfect career but what has been missing from his film list is a superhero movie surprised he hasn't had any awards are nice and all, but to go down in history and win people's hearts, I think one last time he must do iconic performance in a superhero movie, that is what all fans want from him for his career to become next level and what better way to do that then be superman's dad

are beetles that well known? is the color blue popular with all demographics? i feel like the name itself is a bit of a flop, and the name is how many people go watch a movie a name should grip you like iron man, captain america etc. I think that if you ask everyone on the street , everyone knows bats, everyone knows spiders my grandmother is a widow so black widow directly targeted that demographic with the name itself what demographic is a blue beetle even targeting you know? there is no universality to the name, studios have to think about these things my friends, not everyone can have a brilliant name like avatar, but doesn't mean we shouldn't try right?

i mean that is fair enough and you raise an esteemed point I just looked up definitions of mansion and my opinion is 'haunted big house', 'haunted expensive house', 'haunted large house' , 'haunted 7bedroom house' could also be good alternate names mansion, I don't know if it gives the scale of the movie y'know? When you say 7 bedrooms, you know that the scale is truly huge Anyway we are all routing for this movie but budget is a bit too high that is the issue everyone agrees on

i don't the film undid anything with iconic characters honestly each generation has its ups and downs and the women in star wars, indiana jones etc much like the woman irl are phenomenal people, nothing wrong with passing the torch to them what matters is if they retain the essence of adventure/force and that they do so I don't see any concern, few ways to better send off the character then to see someone continue their legacy

I think that what a lot of people aren't considering with the WOM is the scientology factor with the movie honestly Mission impossible is a youth franchise who gets bombarded about what all tom cruise does behind the screen and inside his house on platforms like twitter, instagram and tumblr It is not like top gun where there isn't much youth factor The youth are known to care about these things So I think initial weekend will have heavy rush of tom cruise fans and propel it to almost 100 million but it is also important to recognize the scientology factor because of it I honestly think that the films second week won't earn as high as the first You know the saying friends "everyone wanna be like titanic but no one is truly titanic"
