Name another movie that competed against $1.4 billion and $950 million movies and still grossed over $550 million -
From what I noticed, a lot of the areas where it was selling well were urban metros, which points to it's prospective audience being smaller than your typical blockbuster. Add in the capacity constraints, and it's not hard to see it not reaching the numbers previously mentioned in tracking. Still a very good opening mind you

Black Panther was a cultural phenomenon. Made $200 million in it's first weekend. They're not even remotely similar. The only thing they both have is black led cast. -

She should have also fired her accountants if they didn't put her agents fees as a business expense. Hopefully her new representation got her some points on TCP profit

Yeah the rise of Netflix and Amazon as studios has allowed this sort of consolidation. I do think if this does come to fruition it will be under much more scrutiny by the FTC. The current director made her name as an antitrust lawyer.
