  1. While still great. A little lower than I hoped. did it get above 5m? I'm guessing the 5 bigger days are: LOTR: TTT 5.3m LOTR: ROTK 5.3m TH: BOTFA 5.5m TH: DOS 5.9m TH: AUJ 6m I think that is right. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Dare I ask what this refers to..... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. As for the bonus lol. I couldn't understand it. :)makes sense now though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. So I did understand the question. Lol knowing me if I hadn't abstained I would have misread it in my rush to answer it. Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Pray tell, who was this hero that came so close to predictive perfection when all others failed? [emoji3] This near perfection scorer still failed at the last hurdle to becoming ...... There was was only was 1 who did better (he chose well in which selection to go for being the only player to select weekends ) Fun fact nearly everyone who missed in SOTM1 on gross missed by a large %. Especially on the walk. It killed most of us. Pan was the 2nd worst predicted on this question. Sicario was sort of ok. We did a lot better on the Martian. As mentioned only the Martians final can materially change the scores. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. the old adage of the bigger they are the bigger they fall does not apply to star wars apparently......... Let the force flow worldwide onwards and upwards to those all time records.........
  7. Dirty Grandpa 40% (that shoudl fill it out... i think) updates are coming... i'll be starting the feb investment thread soon.... already on the trail for budgets
  8. SOTM 6 & 7 can't be answered yet though some of the SOTM 7 answers are complete, the whole thing still has a way to go.... i will post an update once we get an update on some of the scoring questions above.
  9. couple of minor differences... i'm going with Infernus's scores as a the main changes increases a few players scores....
  10. ah see i read differently (maybe going cross eyed tonight ) ... i've read it as you've answered 100% of the questions, for every correct question you get 1000 points...... otherwise it would have been simpler to write... if you get all 6 correct you get a 6000 point bonus.... ) hence why i think it's the other way...
  11. I disagree... @Jar Jar Chasmmi will need to adjudicate as i didn't write the question. I read it differently. FYI - i'm impartial in this question as I had abstained and this answer has no impact on my score
  12. I might have misinterpreted the question...... 100% of questions answered correct adds a bonus of 1000 points per question (so 6 correct is essentially worth 30000 points) I took this as for every question you get correct you 1000 extra points per question (whether or not you got a question wrong)...... @Jar Jar Chasmmi - if your meaning you get a 6000 bonus for all correct... why write this as per above ? hence the way i've scored it.... thoughts ?
  13. Let me take a look and check it's correct... also PM any errors like this guys otherwise it will get confusing in here
  14. I've taken the wording literally..... As we finally have a big film (or two) coming our way, I wanted to honour the occasion with a return to a SOTM for a similar blockbuster vs animation battle last Winter Game: Below are listed a selection of questions pitting Peanuts against Spectre. You simply have to pick which film wins (Highest or fastest) in each scenario. I'm pretty sure -14% is higher than -45% last i checked. which makes "Spectre" the correct answer for Q4. Chasmmi can disagree if this is not the correct interpretation of the question of course

  18. SOTM 3 Answers Although both movies are still earning, i believe that we are now at a point where this can be answered. The only question that could have tipped the other way (when we previously looked at this), was Q3 which with a now nearly 5m and expanding gap, i can't see Peanuts catching that up given it's earning nearly a third of Spectre is on the current dailies... Here is the final answers for SOTM3: SOTM 3 Questions Peanuts Spectre Answer 1) Peanuts Opening 5 days (until Tuesday) vs Spectre's best 2 days of its OW $48,996,887 $53,718,385 Spectre 2) Peanuts Opening Tuesday percentage change vs Spectre Opening Tuesday Percentage Change 76.30% 37.71% Peanuts 3) Peanuts' Final Gross - Epic Final Gross (107.5M) vs Spectre's final gross - Quantum of Solace Final Gross (168.4M) $22,734,038 $27,016,528 Spectre 4) Peanuts' 2nd Weekend % drop vs Spectre's 4th Weekend % drop -45.69% -14.33% Spectre 5) Days it takes Peanuts to overtake Goosebumps vs Days it takes Spectre to Overtake Hotel Transylvania 2 (Fastest is winner) 9 22 Peanuts 6) Peanuts Total from Day 15 of release vs Spectre total from day 15 of release $40,991,800 $56,282,076 Spectre
  19. SOTM 1 Answers - Current as of Today I've only included the Total Gross & # Weekends until sub 200k Weekend criteria as no one answered the other 2 criteria. Highlighted Actuals are not finalized. SOTM 1 Answers Movie Criteria Actuals The Martian Total Gross $224,365,733 The Martian # Weekends until Sub 200k Weekend 13 Sicario Total Gross $46,677,167 Sicario # Weekends until Sub 200k Weekend 11 The Walk Total Gross $10,137,502 The Walk # Weekends until Sub 200k Weekend 5 Pan Total Gross $34,991,522 Pan # Weekends until Sub 200k Weekend 9 The Martian's Total Gross and # Weekends > 200k are not there yet and will impact scores in both cases. Sicario and Pan's Total Gross should have limited impact on scores with any addition to the totals (as they aren't earning all that much now anyway). The Walk is already not being tracked anymore (since November).
  20. Just reviewed SOTM1 and while it can't be scored yet, it's very, very interesting.. Only 1 person will get a bonus and he was only player to not go for the Total Gross (he is very very close to taking the maximum score of 50k from this SOTM) the main killer for most on this SOTM is the total gross for "The Walk" and "Pan" - it seems we were all a fair bit off on the end point for those movies.... tbh, the 2nd best score in the SOTM got 3 x A+ and one D rating ... lol and a still great for this SOTM 14k a lot of -ve's in this one...
  21. righto compiling up the current scores... just checking there are no SOTM's that can be scored and i'll put the updated overall lists.....
  22. damn it i missed this week totally slipped my mind with all the xmas cheer going on ... ah well...
  23. Well it had to stop keeping same holds as avatar sooner or later. But does it matter. TFA is putting up a 2nd weekend that most movies would dream of for ow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. From the land down under.... RTH is no doubt busy out watching star wars again with everyone else.... only 13 and half hours into boxing day here...
  25. It's only been recent times they open at all on Xmas day. It's why a lot of big films (LOTR etc) opened Boxing Day here. Avatar was a rare blockbuster that opened the week before. TFA joins that now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
