    so around 240m OW seems likely domestic. for Australia, 27m (which is the equivalent of 260m US) is now in the ballpark as our sunday hold might be flat or just under from saturday (which was already a record as it was ) - thanks RTH just wow...

    the scary part is, the film could drop to 13 to 14m for the weekend (> 50% drop which is unusual for the christmas weekend - see avatar for the example) and still be a threat for 100m as it's 3rd weekend drop will be crazy no matter how i look at it. will do up a avatar vs Star wars comparison as it's the only film that we can compare to for SW now given this opening.

    If look at the % changes for the last weekend in 2009 most films increased over the Christmas weekend so there is precedent. It's the perfect setup. even if I'm off on the Xmas weekend - say we only get to 45m. I'm expecting to be over 60m as a min at this point after the 3rd weekend. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Avatar btw took 3 weekends to reach 48m. Also Boxing Day for Star Wars is aligned to avatars run. Avatar got a 10% increase in its 3rd weekend due to this. While SW might not match that, there is no reason to believe that SW isn't close to flat in its 3rd. Even with deeper drops than avatar from that point on, u gotta think 100m is possible. say 12m 3rd weekend and total around 70m? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Right here's my projections for the next week: Thurs - 9.4/9.4 Fri - 5.3/14.7 Sat - 6.3/21 Projected - Sun - 5.2/26.2 Mon - 2.8/29 Tues - 3/32 Wed - 2.5/34.5 Thurs - 2.8/37.3 Fri - 2/39.3 Sat - 5/44.3 Sun - 4.1/48.4 (13.9 2nd weekend) Is that unrealistic? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Ah. The meltdowns. Anyway 120m is still fantastic. And prob heading for around 240m (my prediction in many places on here was 238m ) Out of interest in Australia after breaking the OD record on Thursday with 9.4m aud. we just broke the all time sat record with 6.3m (thanks RTH). weekend (in 3 days) is already up to 21m which already easily beats the previous weekend record with a day to play.     Btw I'm starting to think 50m by the end of the 2nd Sunday is on the cards here. I'm just not sure how the 2nd weekend will play with Christmas falling on the Friday. 3rd could be a very minimal drop due to this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Australian OD (RTH) is 9.4m AUD. in USD it will be 2nd to only potter who enjoyed a much better exchange rate. It's on 937 screens out of a total 2080 screens in Australia. It even bettered potters average (OD previous holder) It is now expected to eclipse 20m on OW easily (new record also taken from potter). 25m+ is on the table here. On legs it's going to be interesting as typically we at least a 3x multiplier from OW. often higher. This puts Star Wars earning at least 70m without taking the Christmas holidays into consideration.     It will go over 9.2 how much yet to be determined, midnights screw tracking , its already +30% over previous OD Record held by DH2 and +67% higher than previous record Thursday and +56% higher than previous December OD record (of cause Boxing day nat holiday) Suspected that the counting was still happening.     Fantastic. What was the previous Thursday opening record holder? If it follows that what would he rest of the weekend look like? If it averages $5m per day over the weekend we're looking at a minimum $25m by Sunday. Hopefully it will pass DH2 first 5 day total in 4 days. Pretty sure it's still new moon on with about a 5m Thursday for non holidays. Or if u include Boxing Day then TTT I think has it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    So now we play the waiting game.... we know the midnights record and OD records are gone... but it's now a thing of scale. how much did the old record get beaten by.... OD record (DH2 - current) = 7,029,487 on 753 screens (9,335 per screen average) if SW7 is assumed as a minimum to match that average then on say 900 screens we are talking 8.4m.... To me from the limited info we have so far i'm thinking this figure is closer to 10m right now... now we wait until the godly one updates us.....
