Only thing new is the last 10 seconds ... but it's cute with the Superman reference.

Nah, @ViewerAnon is pretty good at gauging DC films the last few years ... if he thinks it's good, I feel confident it will be good.

While waiting for a full trailer, that was a lot of fun. Levi is perfectly cast as a man child.
It may not be an enormous hit like some other properties for DC, (especially since it's kind of sandwiched between CM & A:E) but it should do solid given its budget and if the test screening reactions we've been hearing (including one of the members here) it should be a good movie which is what WB needs to keep doing to build the brand back up.
Aquaman, Wonder Woman & Shazam ... waiting for Batman & Superman to come join them in the sun.

People talking trending on twitter like that's a good thing in this instance ... most comments you see are people either absolutely cringing at genie or posting Tobias 'blue myself' memes.
This is gonna bomb (relatively speaking) for such a high profile IP.

Just showed a new spot during the Grammy's ... including Will Smith as genie

Gonna be very close to Iron Man 3 overseas total in terms of top solo. I needs 805.79.

Well, congrats Civil War, you're safe from Aquabro.

Shazam will be fine, because of the budget and WB likely expectations, but damn ... we're less than 2 months and we haven't had a full trailer since July. LOL
I know Aquaman was late as well with its trailers, but it did have a 5 minute look 2 1/2 months prior to release and that final trailer a month before.
Oh and in regards to the #s ... just too much Lego in too short of a time.

It says right in the link that it's long range tracking.
Pro BO has shown to be complete shit with their 'tracking'/projections just this last Christmas season. They literally flipped MPR and AQM. I'll wait for true industry tracking 3 weeks out.

With this added in, Aquaman will have now passed Skyfall for #22 on the worldwide chart.
... should pass Return of the King by Sunday given the Japan opening.

So now JL gives movies an Avengers like boost despite flopping??? Dear god, the revisionist history surrounding Aquaman is freaking hilarious.
Yes it is ... THIS is the reality of how most people saw things as early as a few months before release.
Doesn't look like a forecast that was confident in JL giving a huge boost. LOL

Is this without Japan?
Japan opens later this week.
Aquaman passed Dark of the Moon to #23 all time, will pass Skyfall on Tuesday.
... edit, Age of Extinction, will pass DoTM before it's done though, should finish #20.

I can't see any negative tweets when I searched Shazam up
The reactions on twitter immediately after the game promo aired were not very good ... lots of same old DC crap. (of course we heard that with Aquaman stuff as well and well ... 1+ billion later, who cares) It's gotten better in the last 10 minutes (guessing more of those from people watching the full version online)

So you're saying the reactions on twitter are negative?
When you search Shazam ... it's 50/50 at best.
It's not shocking, even if people spend nearly 5 billion over 6 films worldwide, bashing DC properties online gets you likes.

It's hilarious to see the reaction on twitter. Despite the fact that popularity wise (outside Tony Stark or Black Panther films) ... DC films are just as successful at the box office ... but you'd swear no one goes to these films because so many people online do nothing but bitch and moan about the smallest things involving them.
Just so you all know ... Shazam is a bust and terrible and WB should sell DC to Disney. Why would twitter lie?

They just played it during the football game, but it was cut down to less than 30 seconds. Hell, I don't even know if it was 20 seconds. Said 'see full trailer' online.
-
Damn, I didn't realize that when he was showing off his lightning skills, he was doing so for money as he had an open guitar case on the ground for money. LOL

Well that was a complete shock ... so Shazam & Pikachu tv spots today during the games. Plus, should be getting a full trailer on the 22nd.
Man, I loved the call back to Man of Steel with that punch in the sky over the city and I had a huge grin during the beer and lair scenes.

Will WB do any fudging to get it over Civil War worldwide?
15-20 million isn't something easily fudged. They'll be content having made more than it overseas and be right next to a film that features Cap, Iron Man, Spider-Man & Black Panther. Huge accomplishment.

I need Aquaman's international numbers.
Same here ... I mean, is it really gonna get within striking distance of Civil War's 1.15 ... I still think it's gonna end up 15-20 million short, but I guess we'll see.
Just an great run even OS-China

It’s hard to say whether the reviews tampered the enthusiasm for Glass or if its appeal was just really overestimated to begin with (Unbreakable came out almost 20 years ago - and got a tepid reception upon release only to achieve cult status later - and Split was a one-and-done if you took away the last 30 seconds of that movie). Either way, it’s a fine opening. I doubt it’s gonna have good legs after seeing it though.
I will say as a fan of Unbreakable ... I didn't rush to see it like I would have with better reception.

Man 47 4 day seems like such a dissapointment if we go back a few weeks where people were talking 60-70+.
Shazam! | April 5, 2019 | 21st Most Profitable Film of 2019

For whatever reason, WB's marketing campaign for Shazam has been a completely underwhelming. They just keep posting new small featurettes, or short clips of the same fucking footage we've seen since last summer. (maybe an extra few shots here and there) and the response is the same every time.
WHERE IS THE TRAILER ... it's become a meme at this point.
... and it goes on and on and now the movie comes out in 48 days.
