Pirates V would be absolutely DEAD ... it would be sweet justice for 2006.

Saw it again ... still say 8.5/10 or say B+/A-. Just incredible last hour, but a slow middle section at times. These #'s are awe inspiring if they hold. The idea that this film could challenge Iron Man 3 opening day (even if they don't technically count) is just insanity. Hopefully closer to that 55 million and we get 67 total ... but think, even if only 50, that's 62 MILLION for Superman. Now, we'll likely get Flash & Wonder Woman. This has been my most excited following box office since Avengers ... and before that probably TDK ... TDKR was going to be great, but the mood was just dead for me after the news. :

The moment Zod finally can fly ... and 'If You Love These People' kicks in and they get ready for one last throwdown in the sky, I was floored. That moment was simply incredible IMO. Got goosebumps.

No ... you obviously liked the 'action' more as well. ... although that Bane/Batman sewer ass kicking was something to behold.

2D ... is what I do now. Can't imagine following the action in this film, dealing with 3D.

Some people just lost their mind with you essentially calling out Sup 1 & 2. ... I don't really get the campiness though ... I didn't really notice much.

Regardless of whether it's 42, 45 or 50 ...it's amazing to think that this film will surpass the opening weekend of Superman Returns in a little over 24 hours.

BTW, Gitesh has been AWFUL with his 'sources' the last few months. He seems to be off quite a bit in his early reporting. At least Rth is also saying 45-50 for now. He used to be so much more accurate from what I remember.

I would guess so ... 45+ would pretty much make 125 a reasonable place. 50 may get you to 130. BTW, if it does do 125 ... what the fuck with BTC ... they tracked it at 125 for WEEKS ... and then they dropped it to 90.

I would never subtract '12' ... it's not like nobody went to those screenings ... sure i'd bet at least half weren't 'paid' for by customers, but still 5 or 6 million.

Sunday drop should be at or around 15% ... Green Lantern dropped I think 9% on FD. With that, I think could push up to 130 or so ... but if does 45, I'd guess 45 36 30 111 OW, + 12 so 123

Wow, simply awesome day ... 45-50 possibliities according to Rth. Imagine if it hits the high end and it's preview/OD is near 62 ... in other words, what 6 million less than Iron Man 3. Of course, it won't have the Saturday or Sunday of IM3, but still ... that is quite impressive for this reboot.

Ray Subers is killing his insane opening weekend prediction by doing this ... he picked 139 Not that it matters ... WB is going to list it as part of the weekend and most publications will follow suit.

Wait, so Iron Man can have a 9pm showing ... and it counts for Friday, but MOS has a 7pm showing and it counts for Thursday. Okay ... that makes no sense. I mean, I would have gone to midnight showing if no 7pm showing.

Yes, we sold around 1/2 at our store ... and were giving away the rest to employees. I would say Walmart probably lost in 'tickets purchased' at least 5 or 6 million dollars ... a drop in the bucket in the grand scheme of things.

Short review for now ... because I'm watching the Heat-Spurs game. A-/B+ I can see why it got C type ratings ... it's really loud and has some repetitive action ... and some characters just don't get the time needed to connect ... BUT DAMN ... I really had a great time. The ending with the trailer 3 music leading to the glasses was great.
