  1. #48 The High Republic: Light of the Jedi - 37 Points (beats Han Solo by having a #5 placement) Rank change: NEW! Jedi Academy was unranked in the 2020 countdown "We are all the Republic!" Charles Soule, Light of the Jedi. The High Republic: Light of the Jedi released in 2021 is the first of a series of novels taking place in a time period not explored before in the Star Wars timeline, after Knights of the Old Republic era, but several hundred years before the events of The Phantom Menace. basically the glory days of the republic and the Jedi thus the title "High Republic" it is one of the first major launches for Disney outside of the films, as there are several novels and the up-coming "Acolyte" tv series is set to take place in this era. Upon release the book ranked #1 on The New York Times Best Seller list of hardcover fiction, staying on the list for four weeks. it also received mostly positive reviews for it's inventive new era and exciting places it takes the Star Wars canon My thoughts: I actually own this book on audible and started listening to it a couple years ago. I heard mixed things about it and found the beginning kind of tedious, but I really need to finish it as I love the concept of the High Republic and I heard the series gets better as it goes. Fan made but kind of awesome: Top 5 placements: 1 Decades: 1970s: 1 1980s: 1 1990s: 0 2000s: 1 2010s: 0 2020s: 1
  2. #49 The Han Solo Adventures - 37 Points This is technically 3 novels but they were tied and part of a trilogy so I cheated and put them as one. The Han Solo Adventures, written by Brian Daley (Han solo at star's end, Hans Solo's Revenge and Han Solo and the lost legacy. are a set of very early expanded universe novels released from 1979-1980. in fact they are only the second novels ever to expand Star Wars canon, the first being "Splinter of the Minds Eye" released in 1978. And of course they follow Han Solo on is scoundrel adventures, prior to the events of a new hope. My thoughts: I have actually not read this series. so I know very little about it, it is on my to read list though, and I have read The Paradise Snare which is the start of a newer Han Solo trilogy released in the late 1990s and loved it and apparently events from this series are incorporated into that series, The Han Solo adventures ranks #12 on novels to appear in the top 50.
  3. #50 - Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy (2003) - 36 Points Rank change: NEW! Jedi Academy was unranked in the 2020 countdown Jedi Knight Jedi Academy was released Sep 16th 2003 and is a continuation of the Dark Forces/ Jedi Knight series released from Lucasarts, it was released for Xbox and PC initially, and was re-released more recently for the PS4 and Nintendo Switch. Jedi Knight Jedi Academy Is the 4th game in the series, however, unlike previous installments where you played as mercenary turned Jedi Kyle Katarn, you played as a new character Jaden, a Jedi initiate who for the first time was customizable; you could choose weather the character was male or female and and even choose from several different species and different lightsabers. you could also choose your missions after the first living making it a pre-curser to the now very popular "open world" format. The game received positive reviews and holds an 81 of 100 on Metacritic and an 8/10 on IGN average. and was praised for it's improved game-play. there was some criticism on the story and many would say the game does not hold up to the previous installment "Jedi Outcast" the highest rated in the series. but still a worthy installment non-the less. there sadly was no direct sequel made after Jedi Academy being the last in the "Jedi Knight" series. My thoughts: I loved this game, but I didn't like it as well as Jedi Outcast. I thought the story was quite a bit weaker and it felt really short compared to Jedi Outcast. but it was still a really fun playthrough with some great lightsaber and force combat. Star Wars Jedi Academy ranks 11th in the top 50 video games and is the first to make the top 50.
  4. And some dishonorable mentions these are titles that received 5 or more bottom rankings (Note: some of these titles may appear later in the countdown)
  5. Here are some honorable mentions that didn't quite make the list. Lego Star Wars Holiday Special
  6. Come one come all the Star Wars Countdown begin! It's been a long time coming but It's finally time to Start the STAR WARS countdown of the best and yes the worst of STAR WARS. 112 titles were summited from 37 members and due to books being allowed this time and quite a few new shows since 2019 I have decided to do a top 50! instead of a top 25 this time. But this countdown would not be possible without these participants so a thank to: @Grebacio @CaptNathanBrittles @BluKyberCrystal @jedijake @junkshop36 @dxmatrixdt @ZackM @Flip @PlatnumRoyce, @Ozymandias @Ryan Reynolds @shachi86 @Ipickthiswhiterose @IdahoJacket @JimiQ @Immortal @therana @Tower @lilmac @grey ghost @Inceptionzq @StreamBO @George Parr @4815162342 @Kalo @blackspider @Cap @Daxtreme @Ronin46 @Menor Reborn @FilmFincher @TheDude391 @Fancyarcher @Marek the Jedi @Impact @ZeeSoh A couple notes: this is an experimental counting system that does reward larger lists more. It seemed to work fairly well though. Remember to be civil in the discourse, it's ok to express your opinion; welcome even, but not to attack other members so please be respectful thank you. So without farther ado set back grab some blue milk and enjoy the Star Wars countdown! Adam Please tag this topic for countdown.
  7. Update: I'm pretty much done scoring. Just adding final rankings and double checking some scores. Some of these ranking are going to surprise some people... And anger others 😆 anyways I'm at work right now but I should finish the ranking late tonight and the count down will start TOMORROW!!!
  8. About half-way through talling. sorry for the slowness. should be finished by Sat and hopefully start the countdown Sat/Sunday
  9. January: 1.8.23 I Wanna Dance With Somebody B+ 1.10.23 Megan A-
  10. I already extended the deadline, too late buddy. but... I'll accept it, I am still doing the round up so one more can't hurt
  11. I'm using this, but I don't like it, you should not be allowed to tie movies like this especially 5-6 of them. so I am just going to rank them in the order you listed them. it will not work to give 5 movies 1 placements. only 1 film can have a number 1 placement. Please in the future try to rank one film each, it makes it really difficult when tabulating the votes. this is for all members and any future countdowns. I am using a kind of experimental ranking system and have been incredibly liniment this time. but I now see why we have to stick to a structure now. so in enjoy your freedoms while you can, cause this is not going to be the case next time.
  12. They aren't late I extended the deadline to Jan 7th about a week ago. HOWEVER now submissions are CLOSED. set back and relax and have a snack while I tally the votes.

  14. If you want to do a top 50 that's fine, I actually do not have a limit on how many entries you list. I simply listed 50 as an example because I didn't know if there were 50 or more at the time. it looks like you were trying to keep your list at 50. just thought I would let you know it's actually not a rule to have a limit. that was before I added books. I am almost regretting that i add them tbh. well I guess I would keep to 100 or less. but I don't think there 100 without allowing a placement for everyone star wars novel.
  15. I am extending the deadline to Jan 7th. but that is most likely final. I am going to start tabulating the lists. so if there is anymore editing. please either quote your original lists and highlight the changes or tag me in a new post that you edited it. I would ask that you try not to edit, (unless you still need to watch Andor) but I am mostly give this little extra time, so a couple late entries and make it while I work on the countdown.
  16. (Ok, to avoid confusion you may include 10 books or series. I honestly didn't see you had combined them for 3 spaces. just put them as a trilogy and I will count them as one. I am most likely going to combine book series in the countdown anyways)
  17. FYC Star Wars Novels: granted I read most of these when I was a teenager, when I had much more time on my hands and well my taste has matured some since then so I'm not sure I would love all them as much anymore.
  18. I did not include novels at first because there are too many for me too rank and they would take up most of my upper half. I have not read most of them in a long time because they destroyed Star Wars novels when they canceled the now "legends" Timeline. which has many Post OT fantastic novels many of which are much better than the watered down Sequel trilogy we got. (which basically stole the characters of Jacen and Jaina Solo and turned them into "Rey and Kylo Ren") The New Jedi Order series, Young Jedi Knights (now mostly out of print sadly). Thrown trilogy and duogy, Jedi Academy Trilogy, Legacy of the Force Series, Fate of the Jedi, Dark Nest, all being great. Also the prequel novel Darth Plagueis is cinematic level greatness. and would make an amazing movie. I have only read 1 Cannon novel. Ashoka. it was fine but it would not make my top 10. or 30 for that matter. The Empire Strikes Back Andor Knights of the Old Republic Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords Return of the Jedi Revenge of the Sith Darth Plagueis New Jedi Order: The Unifying Force Star Wars: Clone Wars (2008-2020) Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast Jedi Fallen Order Legacy of the Force Betrayal Spector of the Past Vision of the Future The Last Command Fate of the Jedi Outcast The Mandalorian The Old Republic: Deceived Jedi Academy Jedi Search Rogue One Star Wars The Courtship of Princess Leia The Force Unleashed (2008) Star Wars Rebels (2014-2018) Star Wars: Visions Tales of the Jedi (2022) The Last Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi The Force Awakens Attack of the Clones The Phantom Menace Battlefront II (2005) Super Empire Strikes Back (SNS) Bounty Hunter (2002) Star Wars Lego game series Battlefront (2004) Star Wars Galactic Battle Grounds Super Return of the Jedi (SNS) Jedi Knight Jedi Academy (2003) Clone Wars (2003) The Bad Batch Super Star Wars (SNS) The Book of Baba Fett (2021) Obi-Wan (Video Game (2001) The Force Unleashed II (2010) Galaxy of Heroes Star Wars Clone Wars (Video Game) Star Wars Clone Wars (2008 movie) The Battle For Endor (Ewokes) The Rise of Skywalker Battlefront (2015) The Caravan of Courage (Ewokes) Star Wars Droids The Holiday Special
  19. I did it. I watched every Star Wars movie in 2022 in Chronological order. Yes The Last Jedi is good. flawed but good. maybe the best of the sequel trilogy. 4/5 most of the issues I have with it stem from the Force Awakens. there are two or three major issues I will talk about later in write ups. Rise of Skywalker is still pretty bad. but it's not entirely unenjoyable, it has great moments. but it has some really horrible scenes with pretty bad writing. One example why studios should NOT listen to fans. it's basically a major fuck you to Rain Johnson, but it does it in a super rushed half-backed corporate way that causes more damage than it repairs. granted it does "fix" some issues I had with The Last Jedi and many fans did. But honestly, they couldn't have gently back peddled some stuff from the last Jedi and focused more on writing the script and pleased a few more people I believe. I'm hovering between a 2 and 2.5 for this right now. definitely the worst Star Wars movie of the bunch. even the Clone Wars movie imo. still it is much better than The Holiday Special if that's saying anything lol
  20. I am actually astonished by the amount of lists submitted. I'm not sure on the amount submitted last time. but I am almost certain we have already surpassed it. 30 lists summited so far. can we get 40?
  21. Just re-watched the original trilogy and The Force Awakens this month I actually noticed more flaws with a New Hope than I remembered and while I still love that movie. it is imo by far the worst of the original trilogy and I actually took my rating down from a 5 to a 4.5 Empire is a masterpiece as always nothing to criticize 5/5 Return of the Jedi is kind of flawed like A New Hope. but for some reason it's flaws don't bug me as much and It's still an all time fave 5/5 I actually liked The Force Awakens a little better this time. (although I LOVED it when it first came out and then just went to liking it after the sequels came out). there are still some really cheesy scenes and I don't like how JJ Abrams glosses over some major plot points. like how the New Republic was so incompetent to be on the verge of being overthrown by the first order. even though they have been the government in power for 30 years. and seem to have way less resources than the the first order even through the first order was the rebel sec. granted I know Kylo Ren is super powerful and Snoke as well so that does give some credence to the fact that the republic may be on the brink. but it is very poorly explained and JJ's refusal to go into politics at all just because he hates the prequels is really irritating and kind of just seems like he isn't a very good writer. but there are some things this movie does very well. the sense of awe and wonder is there and even though I wouldn't have put the OT characters in the place they are and learned to let go of the Legends stories to an extend and they work if not perfectly. Rey's set up is pretty good and she is actually a pretty intriguing character (until ROS at least) Kylo Ren is by far the best thing about this movie and the whole trilogy and part of the reason I'm upping the rating from a 3.5 to a 4. for now anyways Anyways I watched half of The Last Jedi last night and so far... I'm gonna eat so much crow for this. I like it. a lot more than I remembered. granted I still have to finish the movie and there are still some major issues I have with some things in the movie. I also decided to just let go my preexisting assumptions of what I thought this story should be and just enjoy it for what it is and I will say at least this movie feels like a person made it with their own imprint on the story and even through I don't agree with all their choices, It is fairly well done. (for the most part this movie has some really cheesy stuff and is a little obvious that some of the choices made were for contemporary political reasons) Anyways maybe I'll hate it when I finish the last half. but right now I'm hovering from a 3.5/4.
