You know, I was pretty salty about it too for a long time, but to be honest at this point I'm just happy they will finally start showing some attention to the park again. Sure it's going to become littered with Disney IPs that essentially leave behind the purpose it was built for, but at least the park will finally be getting some great new E-ticket attractions nonetheless. Besides, is a Ratatouille attraction that out of place in the France pavilion? Is a Brave one that out of place in England pavillion? Is an awesome Inside Out attraction replacing the awful current (and previous) versions of Journey Into Imagination that horrible of an idea when you think about it? Epcot as it was intended is dead, but I'd at least take it being just another really good Disney theme park again rather than leave it like it has been for so long.

I can't think of a worse idea than a Disney helmed live action Hunchback. It was excusable and even understandable to an extent why the story had to be so neutered for the animated version, but no way do I want to see that happen in live action when we should be getting a true adaptation of the story in that format.

It's really unprecedented from what I can tell. If you look at other blockbuster franchises where the first two were well received and successful, I don't think you can find an opening weekend that dropped in admissions that much from its predecessors. Typically the third film has the highest opening weekend attendance in such cases, not the lowest.

Not necessarily. If SMH really does only do around 300, it may not even beat TASM 1 in admissions. That would be troubling to say the least considering how much more it has going for it, and would certainly indicate that the TASM movies must have had a lingering effect ala what happened with Batman Begins. This is all assumptions right now though, since second weekend drops for CBMs can be all over the place and still end up with good legs after.

The original adjusts to a rather mind boggling 700m domestically. And it could be argued that it's second only to The Wizard of Oz in terms of films that have been so passed on to kids each generation. Makes this a real wild card at the box office. Maybe it only does something like 150-200m, but it could also go way way higher. The level of family competition next holiday season is the biggest possible detriment to it.

THE Incredibles 2 | June 15, 2018 | NO SPOILERS!!!!

Oh god, this again? Toys driving a truck will always be more unbelievable than an Octopus driving one, so please lodge your complaint with the correct Pixar film if that's what you're so hung up over. -
Yeah, you'd just think that people would want something new mixed in with their nostalgia too. I mean sure films like Jurassic World and TFA had a ton of nostalgia driving their success, but it's not like they were straight up remakes with nothing new to offer. *braces for the inevitable TFA is a clone of ANH comments*

I just can't understand why people are so enthralled with seeing these animated classics retold with so little changes, except for being in a medium that suits the stories so much more inadequately than animation like they were originally intended for? I mean if they would take some real creative risks with them and adapt them to stories that would suit live action better that would be one thing, but they're just not doing that. Why not just watch the animated classic instead? I just don't get it. Though I will give some props to both Alice and Maleficent since they did do something different than the animated films, though the problem with those two is that they were just mediocre films.
