Splice frames of porn into kids films then?I cant, I tried to get some sleep all night but it never happened. Know that feeling when you're tired but you cant sleep? I have that right now
-
Haha, no. TDKR will be like $20m-ish and no way is $40m the floor for TBL.Agreed. It's not going to be close given TDKR will maybe get ~$17M while TBL I think will get at least $40M.Edit: Not to mention The Campaign which should also surpass TDKR.

I don't think TR is considered a classic, cult classic maybe, but I agree with your point. More so about Hollywood making crappy remakes in general actually. With the apparent failure of TR, hopefully Hollywood will be against making any more remakes of Arnold's classic movies.

Come on $10.5m when Rth updates!(for TDKR)

Pretty much, I have it at like $10.5m. Under $10m would be a little disappointing. So whats the range we're looking at for today?9.5-11M?

The first part, the double feature money, is split and decided where to put it by WB (and other studios that do it with their movies) so we'll never know the real answer on how much goes to each movie. The second part, that's a very unique case and I've never heard of that before. I speculate that they either paid a set amount to WB to be able to show the movie, or more likely, probably just sell tickets to the movie separately as well and just take the ticket cost out of the $50 admission and that goes towards the movie.I posted this question on Monday:Question for you box office geniuses. I am taking my daughters to a drive in theatre sometime in the next 10 days and for 6 bucks a person (4 bucks for children), I get a double feature of Ice Age 4 and TDKR. Just park my truck and tune in. Awesome deal, but my question is how does that money get divied up for the movies? Is it up to the theatre?Second question. I'm also taking my daugthers to Moody Gardens in Galveston, Texas this weekend which is basically a huge educational playground. There's an aquarium, museum, rainforest replica, water park and apparently, the largest IMAX screen in Texas. There's a package for 50 bucks a person that allows entrance to all these attractions and more which includes an evening showing of TDKR. Again, similar question. How does the money get distributed to TDKR?Just curiousity type questions to increase my BO knowledge, I guess. Not sure if people thought it was a stupid question, and it likely is, but still curious about how this works.

Ooo, don't tease me with that high end.Yeah there is a chance of high end going maybe 7.2-3 but see how it goes in evening but i dont see it being under 6.7 low end

Hahaha, well when they need to save face on clunkers like Terminator Salvation and Superman Returns they'll stretch/fudge it to a somewhat respectable looking #, but when dealing with $400+m Dom and $1b+ WW, they won't really care.So explain why they fudged Terminator Salvation to $125m. Didn't really mean anything for the film's profitability, but they still did it. :lol:I think WB's goal (with China) is $1.1 billion worldwide. $440-450m domestic and $650-660m overseas.
-
As long as it hits $1b ww, I don't think they'll care if the dom # is under $450m or short of any specific dom #, etc.So if it lands smack dab between DH2 and TDK's late legs, it makes $446m. Sounds about right to me. If it does manage that kind of run, how hard will WB push for $450m? We saw them successfully push Superman Returns over $200m when it looked like it would come up $5-10m short.
-
I'll take it!6.76 (-23%) 6.69 (-1%) 10.1m (51%) 13.5m (34%)10.5m (-22%) 34.1m weekend

It's coming from people on here who didn't like the movie and are trying to spin it that everyone they know and talked to also didn't like it. The movie will sell 50+ million tickets, but their opinion and sample size of like 10 people means bad/mediocre wom!I just don't understand, where is this talk of mixed to mediocre WOM for TDKR's coming from? Like I've said previously, it's not on par with TDK/TA but it should be able to hit 2.8x OW. No way a movie with mediocre WOM approach that multiplier.
