  1. That's why I have a very difficult time placing a ton of blame squarely on writers.
  2. Yeah, these aren't watercooler types of shows like GOT was and you had to watch it that night to avoid missing out on the conversation. If they are super into it, they can watch it as soon as it uploads which will not get in the way of The Marvels in the slightest. I remember when Mando season 1 was going and I wake up super early, between 5-6, and there would be shit all over twitter for people that couldn't wait.
  3. Timing in terms of releasing and 'competing' against movies isn't the issue here. The first season of Loki was going when BW was released. Ms. Marvel was out when LAT was released. Maybe they want a better distribution of MCU content over the course of the year. Otherwise, there is nothing new in the span of May-November. Feb - AM3 May - GOTG3 July - Secret Invasion October - Loki November - Marvels But, more the more likely option(or maybe combo of both), they def don't want to overlap the D+ shows to keep people subbing more consistently. Mando season 3 was running in March. For example, if you only care about Mando and Secret Invasion and they are running concurrently, you can sub for a month or two then cancel. If they are running at different times, you will need to sub for 4 months instead of 2.
  4. People that are way into Loki, but not Marvels won't go see it even if they were released months apart though. Timing is not the problem, at all.
  5. Buddy, if someone is watching the SECOND season of a D+ MCU show, they are still deep into this shit and aren't gonna just stop watching the movies.
  6. We obviously don't have a window into an alternate universe to see how things would perform with different reviews, but I can't imagine a world where better reviews don't improve everything? Not even just specifically opening weekend, but just in general. There are always going to be people that wait for reviews.
  7. Whelp that means that these people, who were DEFINITELY going to see this movie, are now going to be forced to boycott it.
  8. That is indeed a great movie dealing with a similar subject. It unfortunately predates Q, so they don't care about it 👀
  9. Yeah, it’s really fucking weird. I’m glad I got to see Top Gun there last year. I gave up and just got A-List.
  10. So it's clear that MI2 was just too good and that a chunk of the audience just decided it could never be topped and never came back. That's why the first two adjust to $400m+ and then it takes a big dip!
  11. Not trying to diminish what it's done, but it's been pointed out that it actually hasn't really made 3x it's opening because about 1/3 of it's total (so far) came before it's first weekend.
  12. The problem with just going into random auditoriums to see how filled up it is, is that on average most shows are going to be pretty empty. Due to overall number of shows, sellouts are generally pretty rare in the grand scheme of things. And that's not even talking about what market they are in because I'm sure the south is going to be doing a lot of the heavy lifting. When I went to MI7 yesterday, I briefly talked to my old boss and they are up to like 19 shows for SoF on the weekend.
  13. wtf, is nobody actually reading what I am saying or did I accidentally say that Amsterdam and Babylon were huge, massive hits? I know they are bombs! I just think that specifically blaming her for their failures, because she is poison, seems kinda shitty.
  14. Not a lot of people these days can though, right? That doesn't mean she is box office poison was my point. Her last two movies were anything but mainstream and even Brad Pitt couldn't save one of them and he is someone that can lead big budget movies to success! I'm sorry I said anything and I'll drop it now lol
  15. Multiple things can be true at the same time. She was def part of the hype surrounding Suicide Squad because Harley Quinn is a very popular character. But also it wasn’t a good movie and nobody cared about a Birds of Prey movie?
  16. I know I’ve slept since then, but Robbie as the first live action appearance of Harley Quinn was absolutely a selling point to TSS??
