    I'm sure I'm going to like Barbie, but of the big 3 coming out in July, it absolutely is the one with the most potential for mixed reception.

    It's funny that two of the movies you used as examples are extreme outliers because the filmmakers involved made damn sure to get extremely long theatrical exclusivity lol. That's literally the opposite of straight to streaming.

    I think part of the problem is trying to separate the fact and the fiction. Obviously human trafficking is very real, nobody is going to dispute that. However, the lead actor is VERY deep in the fiction and as you can see, it's hard to have a legitimate conversation about the topic of the film because of this. It's a lot of baggage for a film with a serious subject matter. If Caviezel weren't in this, I wonder if we would be talking about it at all?

    I think one of the most fascinating things about the franchise is that it has been remarkably consistent. 5/6 movies opened between $45-61m - a range of less than $16m. 5/6 movies ended between $180-220m - a range of $40m. And this isn't like HP or Twilight where they were pumping them out on the reg, this is over 22 years!

    I thought it was pretty obvious he wasn’t promoting the movies themselves, but GOING to the movies.

    Are people actually saying $290m for MI:7 is fine?? Both of those budgets are insane.

    That's what you should do on any kind of reboot or whatever. I swear I remember when they cancelled SM4 and said they were gonna reboot it as $100m 'small' film, but then it ended up being $200m. Both solo Superman movies were saddled with insane budgets that they really can't afford this time around.

    Yeah, it was a weird movie! A “sequel” to Superman 2, a movie 26 years old that nobody cares about anymore. I can’t wait to see what you say when the first trailer hits 😂

    Yeah, based on how basic TS3 is, we should have been prepared for what was to follow.

    You're not wrong, but they have also had their 2 least leggy runs of all time and if I'm looking at the right data - 4 of the bottom 5 in OW multi's are post Endgame.
