  1. The date they have now is good already IMO, but moving to Dec would be a good also, though I don't think they would want to be too close to Hobbit 3.
  2. The weak animation slate will really benefit Dragon 2. Big Hero 6 could break out big too with the lack of animations during holidays.
  3. Two mega hits for Song Kang Ho back to back. Awesome!
  4. What's TC? The Conjuring? Or another local movie?
  5. Walt, I edit my list, make some changes, and fill out all the years (well, to my best knowledge anyway) so if you already put down my votes, you might wanna change some of them. If not yet then, never mind Thank you.
  6. Oh, really? Thanks for pointing that out. Damn it, what should I choose between those 2?! Well. for 1981, I'll go with Indiana Jones then. For 1982, hmm, gotta give E.T the edge. I'll fix my list now.
  7. OMG, I don't know why I totally forgot that. Yes, Oldboy for sure. For some reasons, I only thought of American movies in that year. I'll fix that.

  9. 1. Gravity 2. Thor: The Dark World 3. Captain America: The Winter Soldier 4. Wolf of Wall Street 5. Her 6. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire 7. Frozen 8. American Hustle 9. Guardians of the Galaxy 10. Saving Mr. Banks
  10. Now now, don't be mean In all seriousness, I think B/S has a very good chance at breaking the July OW record. The second weekend record, I just don't see any future releases have a chance at breaking besides AoU and any Avatar movies.
  11. But don't forget about Dat Walmart Factor. That'll help a lot too
  12. I think you're being too pessimistic. It's Batman/Superman first team up movie we're talking about here. It'll open bigger than that.
  13. Cell No.7, Berlin File, IM3, WWZ, Secretly Greatly, Snowpiercer, The Face Reader. What did I miss?
  14. Jesus Christ, this thread :rofl:And I see that BKB has a taste for reaction gifs and memes these days. Different approach?
  15. Easy, I don't think so. And no, even if they're all good, I'm not worshipping them. I simply enjoyed them
  16. 1. Yeah, that's how you see them. To me, a lot of movies have the right amount of humor mix in with serious themes. I can still see the themes getting developed, I can still relate, identify with whatever messages the movies resonate. You don't, sure, fine.2. I didn't insinuating anything. I watched and enjoyed the type of humor in TDK just like I also watched and enjoy the different types of humor in MCU movies, Raimi's Spidey, Burton's Bat, X-Men, etc... You know, I'm sorry that I don't worship TDK trilogy like you, or able to enjoy and see how good the other superheroes movies are too. Too bad.
  17. Apparently only "dark, gritty, whatever the terms" movies suppose to have deep themes now? I like TDK, but LOL, the level of pretentiousness and superiority complex of the Nolanites is really laughable. You know what, just because a movie is fun, just because it has humor, doesn't dismiss the message or the story it tell. I watched IM1 and see a story about redemption, of a man seeking to right the terrible wrongs he caused. Or Captain America, the story about courage and bravery, about sense of responsibility and spirit that surpassed physical limitations. And many more in the world of superhero movies. You don't see them, or refuse to acknowledge them due to your stupid preconceived hatred, then fine, but acting like snobs and above others cause they prefer something other than your blind worshipping of whatever movies is just pathetic.
  18. But IM3 itself is a sequel, it's supposed to be frontloaded as well. Like I said, I think Marvel movies are Saturday player. Just like how Marvel movies are never big on presales but rather rely on walk-ups. Walk-up and family appeal are what make them Saturday players IMO. Unless Friday is mega big, I see AoU increase from Friday sans midnight like most Marvel movies did. Your Sunday drop is too generous. One of the most impressive stat of Avengers OW is the Sunday drop, which is only 18%, something I don't see a repeat of. I think AoU will drop more than that, closer to 30% on Sunday.
  19. I think Marvel movies are generally Saturday player. AoU, I could see opening big on Friday and will also hold well on Saturday. Sunday drop will definitely be way bigger than what TA had, I just can't see another mega opener drop like that in May anytime soon.
  20. I really like how they handle the PTSD aspect. It tied up well with the theme about Tony Stark's personal journey they went for. I found this article where they discussed the issues of PTSD not only in IM3 but throughout the whole IM trilogy pretty in-depth. It's rather interesting: http://www.underthemaskonline.com/?p=352
  21. Wow, you're not a fan of Wuxia, firedeep? That's a surprise. I love the genre cause I grew up with it. My Dad is, who you could call a wuxia junkie. He's a big fan of Jin Yong's wuxia novels and has read all of them. I only read a few myself and mostly know about them through TV series. Tian Long Ba Bu is my utmost favorite. As for kungfu films, I like the earlier ones. Modern kungu movies, IMO, are certainly better in cinematography, fight sequences, technical aspects, but often lacked a compelling story. They're sometimes, overly complicated just for the sake of it, which I don't really like. I still prefer watching wuxia TV series more though, especially Jin Yong's adaptations.
  22. I love Batman Returns. I see that the movie garnered rather divided opinions, but man, it's very rewatchable. For all the superheroes movies pre-Raimi Spidey, Batman Returns would be on the top of my list, maybe tied with Superman 78'. One of the biggest reasons that I loved Batman Returns is the romance. It was handled very well. I feel that romance was often being portrayed poorly in comic book movies, so I'm often weary of them. But the romance in BR is one of my favorites, alongside Steve/Peggy and Peter/MJ in SM1.
