    OS is more impressive at the moment because we already see the holding power it has through 2nd or 3rd day in release over its own record breaking ODs.

    Yeah my mistake, I forgot to factor in the Sat jump. It’s gonna pull in 100M more on OS opening than what we thought was optimistic before release. Woo boy.

    This Friday hold in OS markets mean at least 350M+ OS opening. Even going conservative on Dom OW of about 230M, that gives Infinity War a WW OW total of 580M. Without China! Previous record holder is Fast 8 with 541M, of which 185M came from China.

    Incredible number. A bump from last Friday. Already benefit big time from IW spillover. That’s gonna continue over the weekend too. It should pass TLJ worldwide by Sunday or Monday.

    We always thought there’s a cap on Friday business since all previous OW record breakers hover around 62-63M. But then IW just disputed that by a comfortable amount. Same with Saturday, everything always come close but never seems to break through 70M. Infinity War only need a 3% bump from true Friday to get over. I do agree though that 77M seems a bit crazy. I’m thinking more 73-75M

    I’m pretty comfortable throwing any comparisons to Star Wars out the window at the moment.

    Previews to Friday opening ratio already prove to be much less frontloaded than Star Wars (which is a given but still need to be said) and most of other 170M+ OW movies. If Friday already behaved like, what others been insisting on, a Marvel movie; don’t see why Saturday wouldn’t.

    For sure. Even more impressive are the incredible holds on 2nd or 3rd day after already record breaking OD in most countries. In this day and age when WOM travels fast, that speaks to the great reception it’s receiving. Honestly, after the first time finish watching the movie, I didn’t think the plot choices would have gone over well with audience. Still gonna have to wait for 2nd weekend drop at least, but reception so far definitely is a lot more positive than I anticipated

    I’m so confused as to which party to join lol. The OS party at first looks like it’s gonna be way more impressive than Dom. But then EmpireCity came to throw down that 107-108M OD figure and suddenly, Dom party also catching up in the fun.

    We speculated before release that without China, IW would have gotten to #2 WW opening at best (and that with record OW Dom) But now it’s gonna be cruising through the WW record without even breaking a sweat lmao.

    8% better received than Civil War, so gotta apply that 8% to the multiplier and you get 2.46x Better leg than Ultron also confirmed.
