Always thought Aliens was better than Alien. Not thanks to its action (although it doesn't hurt at all), but the beautifully developed motherhood motif throughout the whole film along with Ripley's character development and Cameron's direction and storytelling, for me, definitely push it above Alien which isn't much more than a well-paced, tense monster movie in space with a lot of sexual imagery and one-dimensional characters. I mean, it's a damn well done monster movie in space, but I just find Aliens to be a richer and more rewarding movie.

 

Oh, and TSN ain't going away. Damn right it isn't.

I find the opposite. Aliens characters were one delusional.

I think Schindler's List is a tremendous film and when I saw it, it was such an emotional gut punch. But it's a film I have never and liked will never watch again

Oh drat, missing the top 30 by two. The world ends for riczhang.

 

Top 30 was an absolute worst scenario for it. It should've been top 20. And the fact that POS will clog the top 15 and the true gems of cinema are relegated to outside the top 30 and mostly out of top 100. Shameful. 

 

Lawrence of Arabia was in my top 10.  I want to know how close Elephant Man was making the list. I think only me and 48 voted for it. 

 

LOA was my #11. 

 

I consider Schindlers List the best movie ever made.

My taste is impeccable. Considering I learned from the best. 

 

Look at it this way, ric -- in this genre-heavy, superhero-weighted forum, people still like quality movies like TWBB enough to rank 'em in the top 40.

 

I think it just shows how much more fanboy-ist and shit tasted this film has gone. A 17 to 32 drop for TWBB. As MT says, "DISGRACE!"
