Indian Box Office Thread | Jawan overtakes Pathaan, becomes highest grossing Indian movie of 2023

Recommended Posts

Bobby Jasoos and Lekar Hum Deewane Dil has opened poorly with both having initial occupancy below 10%.

Expecting a figure close to 1.75 Cr for Bobby Jasoos and 0.75-1 Cr for LHDD. Bobby Jasoos may reach 2-2.5 Cr if the WOM is positive. So a complete turnaround from evening shows required for both movies.

Watched TFIOS and the theatre here was not even Half-full. A midnight show is left which has around 5-10 Tickets booked already. I heard that PVR are giving away some tickets too.

These numbers are confusing. Either use Indian number system with Rs, or International with US$.

I thought this would be appropriate since most users here are from out of India.. Okay, then I will use the "Indian Number system + US$" to post figures from next time onwards. (With Cr)

Is it okay to post the Gross figures or should I post the nett figs?

Do you have data of Hollywood releases? Most people here are interested in that though. :)

I do have weekly data(nett) for the Hollywood releases plus Theatre counts.

Can you post, like for ex., all the data for the 2014 releases. I have no idea where to find those nos and I don't trust Mojo.

Also, if you can, post the top 10/20 grossing Hollywood releases in India?

It just that there is no proper database for Hollywood releases in India. :)

I'm kind of happy to see Humshakals drop off the face of the earth after OW. That might have been the worst Sajid Khan movie ever, yes even worse than Himmatwala.

Even I was shocked to see such fantastic initial figures. It was such an irritating film and I thought it will not even cross the 40 Cr mark.

Ok I will post the 2014 Figures ASAP. All nett figs not Gross. Top 10 ones will take a bit time, will post that too.

There is no transparent source/database for Bollywood films here either. :P

I second this.

No problem in posting the figures, but i cant guarantee you about the accuracy tho. If its okay then I will post it. We have a lot of trouble in India to get accurate figures. We have been waiting for a proper site for a long time. I recently heard that Rentrak will soon provide Indian figs. Thats the lost hope for us. :P
