I didn't even notice that

Was an amazing number for an r rated film. Especially back then. If u consider it was 4th biggest film released in 1992 and 3rd during the calendar year of 1992. It really puts it into context how big this was. Wows assuming it gets 15m will be lucky to be in the top 20.Also given the film I think one certain infamous scene would have given it the R18+ even if the ma15+ option was available. Ah. CF will pass im3. Cf should make more than 40k this weekend which means it's done and dusted. Just cf might be outside the 20 when it does it ;)

ah

too bad then

Why?

$$$$$$$$$$$$

This should mean 40m is still a possibility from here...

good. but still disappointing comparing to AUJ  :(

great for Wolf btw! & lol i didnt know that Hangover is R

I think they might be the long weekend numbers.

they were reported on monday.  i am pretty sure unless they were extrapolating that these are the normal weekend #'s.  i'm not sure if we will get long weekend numbers anymore.

I don't think those are Long Weekend numbers.

Agreed. Those look like normal weekend #'s.

Good listing you did of R rated films, few things missing

In OWe Rambo (08)

all time, WOWS is currently #14

all above Romper, missing Exorcist(orig rls),Clockwork Orange(both Orig +RI),Alvin Purple,Midnight Express, Last Tango,When Stranger Calls

I hope catching fire is in the top 20 this weekend......

Iron Man 3 - 39.23m

Catching Fire - 39.19m

so close!

also:

DM2 - 35.82m

The Hobbit: DOS - 35.68m

also very close :)

and last but not least.....

Frozen - 29.58m (into the top 5 for films that opened in 2013 we go :) )

Life of Pi - 28.29m

DOS is bit closer to DM2, DM2 figure should be 35.75m

I'd imagine that once 2013 is added the # of digital screens will increase dramatically again.... possibly more than half the total screens.

I do wonder whether we will see that flatten out eventually though (I suspect that not all cinemas will convert in the end)
