I really liked this one. I've seen it a few times already and then I found out that it's based on a novel. It reminded me of 'Tunnels' by Roderick Gordon & Briand Williams which is one of the best thriller-adventure book series ever. I really hope Relativity will adapt it soon since they bought the rights for it for a few years now and the books are very successful.

This was one of the worst flops ever financially. I doubt anyone is going to touch this series again.

 

Not sure why it flopped so badly, though. I thought it was pretty solid, as far as YA book adaptations go.

It's a solid film that probably could have been more fleshed out.  The world of Ember is realised quiet well.  A pity it didn't do well at the box office.

very good cast and excellent visuals can't save this movie from the dull, packed with boring cliches and contriveances script 45/100

It really is a pity though because the director showed so much potential in Monster House and this.
