riczhang
https://deadline.com/2014/11/indie-spirit-nominations-preview-likely-oscar-contenders-but-whats-up-with-that-imitation-game-shutout-1201296792/ Deadline mentions it was eligible. They just shut it out Deadline mentions supposedly eligible, not 100% certain. I heard from TWC that it wasn't? But I dunno at this point. On one hand it shouldn't have been eligible because it's in the same position as TKS which wasn't eligible, but Harvey has gotten past the rules before. The Futurist
This indie tag is so meaningless that nobody ( distributors, trades, the award show itself) knows which movie deserves it ... quite funny to see how everybody seems to be clueless of what the concept of indie really entails. My best guess is the soundtrack : an Elliot Smith song gives you bonus points for indie street cred.
