ShouldIBeHere
I found this might be of interest for some of you. Sorry if it was posted before: Link Admissions include re-releases, the movies were #1 without these, though. 1965: James Bond 007 - Thunderball (12 Mio) 1966: Doctor Zhivago (12.75 Mio) 1967: James Bond 007 - You Only Live Twice (9 Mio) 1968: The Jungle Book (27.40 Mio) 1969: Once Upon a Time in the West (13 Mio) 1970: Schulmädchen-Report (7 Mio) 1971: Aristocats (11.30 Mio) 1972: Trinity Is Still My Name (12.30 Mio) 1973: Papillon (8.5 Mio) 1974: The Sting (6.53 Mio) 1975: Jaws (7 Mio) 1976: The Twelve Tasks of Asterix (7.20 Mio) 1977: The Rescuers (9.80 Mio) 1978: Star Wars (8.02 Mio) 1979: The Gendarme and the Extra-Terrestrials (5.6 Mio) 1980: The Empire Strikes Back (5.05 Mio) 1981: The Fox and the Hound (5.01 Mio) 1982: E.T. Some observations: Titanic still carries the crown for most admissions in Germany by far. Together with P. Jackson, Cameron is also the only director who achieved 10 Mio + admissions in Germany twice. 2013 and 2014 were the first years in which the #1 spot was taken by two German movies in a row. 2012-2014 was the first time that no Hollywood-studio movie took the #1 spot for three consecutive years. Harry Potter halved its admission number from the first to the last movie. Edited March 20, 2015 by ShouldIBeHere
SchumacherFTW
Looking at that list, could Jurassic World beat The Force Awakens this year?
ShouldIBeHere
I don't think that can be predicted, the last three years the Hobbit seemed to have the #1 in its bag and was twice beaten by a totally unexpected German movie and once by an unexpected French movie. I doubt anyone would have predicted the #1 spot for either of the three. For this year I think buzz will be on the side of SW - but who knows what other movie might manage to generate the WoM spiral needed to end up #1 here. "Honig im Kopf" was a movie I heard so many people go "Oh no... not again a movie by and with Til Schweiger" before its release. But a superb marketing campaign and good WoM made its run stronger and stronger and now it is #1.
IndustriousAngel
Jurrasic world seems more on the "been there - done that" side than SW7, so my bet would be on SW. FJG2 might top both, though. And then there's "Spectre" - "Skyfall" counted nearly 8mil admissions!

ShouldIBeHere
Sorry, I completely overlooked The Jungle Book. (Though one might add that this one was re-released several times, I think.)
