Haven't seen any movies there yet (mainly because Island Cinema is just a mile further and much nicer for an upscale theater) Edited August 10, 2015 by grim22

Very possible that some college students got drunk or stoned and thought that this was a good idea. Accursed Arachnid!™
I am pretty sure they 'thought' that was funny. Too often people hide behind: what do you want, it's only a joke.... till something seriuosly happens Really despising such kind of 'wanna-be'-cools It's like when someone makes fun of someone else and they're the only one laughing. Or, simply being a bully. They know a lot of people are on edge these days when going to the theater and decided to kick them while they were down. Classy.

terrestrial
Honestly that sounds like something a middle schooler would think was cool. How college aged students can still act like they're 12 is forever baffling. I work nowadays part-time with children (~6y to 16y mostly). The most 12y old there would know about the possibility of harm out of reactions.... Excluding during over-the-top/high-spirit-moments. Then all bets are off. But the bringing of such kind of machine does not look like an over-the-top moment to me = pure stupidity added to bad social abilities... and so on IMHO
StarSaber
Third time in 3 weeks. It is crazy. It is becoming a common thing. I think stuff like this is more common than you think, the recent theater shootings are probably putting more spotlight into incidents that otherwise would be more local. Big Newport is in my theater district, kinda wondering how a leaf blower slipped into the theater like that.
