In all fairness...Deadpools over performance last weekend was like...the opening weekend of Xmen DoFP. Just saying. Deadpool.

That is true, it was a bad over-estimate on AOTC but they had the precedent to assume a smaller Sunday drop. It was definitely a head-scratcher how badly they missed the mark on that one, however.

No it wasn't a head scratcher. They wanted an opening that was bigger than Spider-Man's. The only way they could do that was to claim that the 4-day was at 115m. Pretty much everyone knew that they had vastly overestimated it.

I don't see how that would have meant anything, though, it's a 4 day opening. There wasn't any world in which AOTC had a more impressive opening than Spider-Man, even with that bad estimation, sadly  lol.
