This makes FF8's OS retention rate (compared to FF7) a bit weaker than DM3's OS retention (compared to Minions) 86.8% for FF8 compared to 92.6% for DM3. DM3 joins Minions as the second non-Disney Company animated feature to land in the all-time animation top 5. The film is also just $4 million shy of overtaking Finding Dory for the no. 4 spot. It needs only £200,000 to cross DM2 and only £400,000 to cross Minions to become Illumination's highest grossing film ever in the UK and the third highest animated film ever in the UK after Toy Story 3 and Shrek 2. Only possible explanation is that Universal has made some sort of recalculation, but it's not something we're used to seeing. Suspicious to say the least.
