Hey, y'all. I'm bringing back the thing where you - yes, you! - get to vote for what movie I see each week. Here's the catch: I have MoviePass now so the only thing I'm wasting is my time. As such, the only movies that will be options will be rotten on RottenTomatoes (since I'll probably catch everything else on my own time.) So yeah here's the first week. Deadline is Tuesday night. Woot woot.

AGHHHHH I'M MAD I SAW THIS MOVIE BECAUSE NOW I HAVE A VERY STEREOTYPICAL CHOICE FOR WORST OF 2016

 

The Wild Life is boring and stereotypical. It lacks all internal logic and has more sympathetic villains than heroes. Featuring more 3D tricks than should be allowed in 2016, it has miraculously awful animation that at points is enjoyable to watch because one believes they're watching a 4K restoration of one of the early Cartoon Network attempts of CGI. The jokes are consistently unfunny and the dialogue is frequently cliche. It also courts furries more than Zootopia did while having arguably the worst narration I've ever heard in a film. After the inanity of the 85 minutes, it reveals the real reason for its forced framing device: a second climax that gets rid of any character growth. At least they fit the stereotypical sequel plot within the credits of the film. The Wild Life is an absolutely horrendous film, and deserves to be lost to the annals of time.
