Lager Pictures has recently announced their tentative slate of films set to for release in Y6. The current list is incomplete as the studio is looking to wait on any potential new films for their indie distributor, Lager Pictures Classics. The current Y6 line-up is:

Quote

Y6

Expedition Everest (dir. Jon Turteltaub) (Action/Adventure) - January

Based on the popular attraction at Walt Disney World resort, the story of Expedition Everest follows a father (Bruce Willis) who bands a rescue team together to venture into the Himalayan mountains after his newlywed daughter and husband go missing on an expedition. Unfortunately for them, their path to rescuing the couple is complicated when they have aaa unlucky encounter with the legendary Yeti. Nicolas Cage and Jason Statham are set to co-headline the film with Willis.

A Trip to the Moon (dir. Wes Anderson) (Fantasy/Comedy) - March

Critically acclaimed director Wes Anderson (The Grand Budapest Hotel, A Month at Belmond Lane) joins forces with Michael Keaton, Jeff Goldblum, Daniel Kaluuya, Jason Schwartzman, Daisy Ridley, and many more to collaborate in a re-imagining of Georges Melies' revolutionary classic for a new century.

My Hero Academia (dir. Peter Ramsey and Chris Sanders) (Superhero/Animation) - April

Based on the manga series by Kohei Horikoshi, My Hero Academia takes place in a society where people with superpowers (commonly known as "Quirks") is the norm. Th film follows a young boy who dreams of one day becoming a hero, despite being ridiculed for not having powers of his own. After an of selfless bravery proves himself worthy of being a true hero, the boy is bestowed a power by the world's most popular and revered superhero, All Might. As he trains to master his newfound abilities, the boy must navigate his way through U.A. High School, the world's most prestigious school for superheroes. Voice talent for the film includes David Mazouz, Jon Hamm, Nicholas Hamilton, Ariel Winter, Daniel Henney, Domhnall Gleeson, and Adrien Brody.

Untitled Rescuers Soft Reboot (dir. Jeremiah Zagar) (Adventure) - Summer

Our two favorite mice return to the big screen for the first time since 1990's The Rescuers Down Under. Not much is currently known about what is reported to be a soft reboot of the franchise other than it will be live-action. Glen Powell and Lea Seydoux will be the respective voices for Bernard and Bianca, taking up the mantle from Bob Newhart and the late Eva Gabor.

Untitled Matt Reeves Tentpole Event (dir. Matt Reeves, duh) (Genre: TBA) - Late Summer

Not much has been revealed yet about Matt Reeves' anticipated follow-up to his Best Picture winning finale to The Odyssey franchise. The studio is currently under wraps about the project, citing that they are contractually obligated to not reveal anything about until they are approved of doing so by an unnamed party. Lager Pictures has revealed a few small details about the film however. "It's a project that Matt [Reeves] has been wanting to do for quite some time, even before The Odyssey films," a studio representative told CayomMagazine. "After Homecoming blew away even our most optimistic projections, even with the R-rating holding it back, we knew right away that we would happily greenlight whatever his next project was going to be. We consider it to be our thank you to him for helping to make Lager Pictures what it is today." When asked what we could expect from the currently unnamed project, the representative only said this: "All you need to know is that this film is going to be a natural step-up from Matt's previous work, both in terms of size and in terms of the amount of money you see put on screen. [Matt] has more than earned it at this point." Lager Pictures is expected to finally announce what the project is sometime after the end of Y5.

Penpal (dir. Trey Edward Shults) (Coming-of-Age Drama/Thriller) - Fall

Originally based off a series of posts on the /nosleep Reddit forums, author Dathan Auerbach (known online as 1000Vultures) eventually turned his six-story series into a self-published novel called Penpal. Now, Lager Pictures Classics and director Trey Edward Shults (Krisha, It Comes at Night) will bring the novel to the big screen. The story follows an unnamed man (Logan Lerman) who investigates the seemingly unrelated, bizarre, and horrific occurrences in his childhood to finally understand them. Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Josh Duhamel, and Kristen Bell will co-star in the film.

@cayommagazine

Endless Entertainment has greenlighted a major original film for Y6 to replace Trollhunters. Kiersey Clemons will star as the lead as the movie is being described as “Spark meets Dragon Ball”, as it and Phoenix Saga are planned to be the trump cards and hopeful franchise starters. The studio is actively looking for a female director.
