Do you have any idea what is the average ticket price.

Because $200K when a ticket cost just 3$ dollar would mean that more people watch the #1 in SA than people watch the #1 film in Germany this weekend:lol: (62,794 adm -> €692,625 or ~$850k)

That would be really high, almost like in some parts of Europe.

Okay, yeah $8M is a nice total over 1M admission.

(Of course not as high as UK, Germany or Scandinavia. but ticket prices here are also incredible high)

Or actually is maybe lower I am basing it on looking at theater ticket prices from the main chains which have different ticket prices so It maybe 3 or 4 or more who knowns.

From Deadline:

The movie posted the highest opening weekend in industry history in Korea, India (non-local), the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Brazil, Central America, Peru, Chile, Ecuador, Venezuela, Bolivia, South Africa, Turkey (non-local), the UAE and West Africa.

No East Africa mentioned meaning maybe it was the number two opening weekend record behind Black Panther.

Okay, did some calculations. We basically have two major chains, Ster-Kinekor and Nu Metro. Nu Metro is a bit more expensive but not by much. Overall, when using the current dollar-rand exchange rate the average 2D ticket is about 6.35 dollars while the average 3D ticket is about 8 dollars. IMAX is about 10.6 dollars

avg 2017 lc60, 2016 $lc54.5. So in $us around $4-5 mark. Also note that SA boxoffice is combination of several countries (SA itself accounts for nearly all of it though)

As BP started the increased awareness... and it's still in cinemas there too

actual weekend (DP2)

TW LW Movie                       Studio     WeGross   Change Screens Change / Avg. Gross-to-Date Week

17 13 Black Panther SterKine $3,552 -77.5% 11 -20 $323 $8,401,813 14

It is not doing much, but as long as it is doing some we see the finals, and the changes

last weekend

13 7 Black Panther SterKine $15,778 -62.0% 31 -29 $509 $8,740,219 13

and before that

7 4 Black Panther SterKine $41,568 -68.0% 60 -17 $693 $8,539,767 12

here Avengers IW arrived

4 3 Black Panther SterKine $129,728 +33.7% 77 -9 $1,685 $8,529,376 11

means it was in week 10 still placed #3, lost a place but increased the # (double features?) in week 11, but lost screens and % in a big way since

Highest tc was in week 2 with 143 theaters
