Ezen Baklattan
CHAPTER 1: DELIVER US FROM DUDS January 3-5: Scrooge and Moses Keep 'Johnny Test' at Bay The critically reviled and incoherently existing 'Johnny Test' was not an expected choice for a film to lead us into Y4. And yet someone thought this was actually going to work. It....sort of did? The $16.3m opening weekend could have been way worse, but I doubt there will be much of a rush to make the sequel, especially if the C- Cinemascore is anything to go off of. This should quickly fade from everyone's memory, including, god willing, the people who worked on it. Meanwhile, 'The Number One Dime' and 'The Prince of Egypt' continue their dominance after the Y3 holiday season. The Number One Dime - $49,020,360 (3rd week) (-39.2%) The Prince of Egypt - $25,458,294 (5th week) (-39.7%) Johnny Test - $16,296,420 (NEW) Wolves of the Deep - $16,033,287 (3rd week) (-42.6%) Garden of Eden - $10,489,617 (2nd week) (-34.9%) That Was A Long Time Ago - $8,005,384 (2nd week) (-36.9%) Street Sharks - $4,653,849 (6th week) (-34.1%) Mirror's Edge: Catalyst - $2,475,582 (7th week) (-33.6%) The Chrysalids - $1,977,067 (10th week) (-27.7%) Bro Time - $1,910,896 (2nd week) (-58.0%) January 10-12: Cinemas are the Real 'Dead Space' While the two juggernauts of the Holiday season continue to ace it, the lack of compelling options for audiences are clearly going to only worsen by the end of the month. Hopefully anything this week? I guess Dead Space staying over $25m isn't too shabby, but 'Haunting Hour' left no impression with its one note premise and strong competition from DS. Either way, with Cinemascores of C+ and D respectively, I don't expect much from either. The Number One Dime - $28,353,829 (4th week) (-42.2%) Dead Space - $25,734,963 (NEW) The Prince of Egypt - $16,155,075 (6th week) (-36.5%) Wolves of the Deep - $8,894,346 (4th week) (-44.5%) Garden of Eden - $6,283,997 (3rd week) (-40.1%) Johnny Test - $5,906,069 (2nd week) (-63.8%) That Was a Long Time Ago - $4,770,498 (3rd week) (-40.4%) Haunting Hour - $2,942,657 (NEW) Street Sharks - $2,733,912 (7th week) (-41.3%) The Chrysalids - $1,402,839 (11th week) (-29%) January 17-20: 'The Mole' Assassinates 'Extrasensory' on Holiday Weekend It was the first crowd pleasing comedy in a slow season with not horrible critical acclaim. God knows it was bound to break out in this dire time, but with an opening weekend over $38m, it matched generous expectations nicely. The B+ Cinemascore isn't too shabby either. Extrasensory, on the other hand, was not on the side of sense. With a pitiful $7.2m weekend, it seemed to be blamed on unclear marketing, lack of stellar reviews, and no real unique spin on the premise. The B- Cinemascore isn't too encouraging either. Dead Space took a noticeable tumble, while some of the holdovers from last year are slightly stabilizing. The Mole - $38,424,953/$46,757,307 (NEW) The Number One Dime - $19,224,835/$25,316,439 (5th week) (-32.2%) The Prince of Egypt - $10,135,923/$13,227,195 (7th week) (-37.3%) Dead Space - $9,960,035/$12,005,387 (2nd week) (-61.3%) Extrasensory - $7,207,814/$8,713,635 (NEW) Wolves of the Deep - $5,410,289/$6,485,292 (5th week) (-39.2%) Garden of Eden - $3,910,445/$4,788,555 (4th week) (-37.8%) Johnny Test - $2,688,329/$3,714,889 (3rd week) (-54.5%) That Was a Long Time Ago - $1,957,038/$2,461,345 (4th week) (-59%) Street Sharks - $1,455,002/$1,861,293 (8th week) (-46.8%) Hauting Hour - $885,273/$1,032,830 (2nd week) (-70.9%) January 24-26: 'Baseball Boy' Swings for Silver It won't be the biggest animated film of this or any year, but 'Baseball Boy' at least counts for SOMETHING. With an $14.4m opening weekend, 'Baseball Boy' satisfied families desperate for something new without having to stoop to 'Johnny Test'. The B+ Cinemascore isn't amazing, but it should do the trick for families. 'The Mole', on the other hand, enjoyed a second weekend on top with a strong hold on 38%. This could be in it for the long haul if the season stays this week. The Mole - $23,801,412 (2nd week) (-38.1%) Baseball Boy: Swing For The Fences- $14,379,540 (NEW) The Number One Dime - $12,115,039 (6th week) (-37%) The Prince of Egypt - $6,005,904 (8th week) (-40.7%) Dead Space - $4,740,213 (3rd week) (-52.4%) Extrasensory - $3,674,804 (2nd week) (-49.0%) Wolves of the Deep - $2,955,772 (6th week) (-45.4%) Garden of Eden - $2,271,732 (5th week) (-41.9%) Johnny Test - $1,175,979 (4th week) (-56.1%) That Was a Long Time Ago - $923,856 (5th week) (-52.8%) January 31-February 2: Yeezus Christ. Whether it was buzz from the original or curiosity over Kanye's involvement, 'When a Stranger Calls' somehow managed to surpass expectations and open in second place with $11m. However, with a D Cinemascore, it's unlikely that the film will do remotely anything to keep its slight surprise. It also wasn't enough to upset 'The Mole' from its #1 spot, as the film is turning into a decent surprise hit. However, one thing is clear: This has got to be one of the weakest weekends in CAYOM history. It's awfully telling that a film can make $500k and still be in the top 10. The Mole - $15,286,213 (3rd week) (-35.8%) When a Stranger Calls - $11,176,084 (NEW) Baseball Boy: Swing For The Fences- $9,433,006 (2nd week) (-34.4%) The Number One Dime - $8,774,325 (7th week) (-26.7%) The Prince of Egypt - $4,212,228 (9th week) (-29.9%) Dead Space - $2,132,745 (4th week) (-55.0%) Extrasensory - $2,035,982 (3rd week) (-44.6%) Wolves of the Deep - $1,640,574 (7th week) (-44.5%) Garden of Eden - $1,430,672 (6th week) (-37%) The Chrysalids - $517,230 (14th week) (-24%) 5
YM!
Really good for The Mole should finish around $120M, sort of worried about Blue and Gold being a casualty but I doubt it due to it still having the highest reviews for a February film. Johnny Test with that powerful $16.3M/sub 2x multiple, also what time is February and March coming tomorrow @Suspirighetti Edited October 22, 2018 by YourMother the Edgelord

YM!
I think March will be bigger than expected: - One Piece I can see doing 90% Of EDF ($55M/$153M) - Pillars I can only see $250M-$270M - I think audiences will eat up MUT and it pulls a 21JS ($30M-$35M/$125M) - Can You Imagine breaks out since it’s the first major animated movie and first family flick since Pokemon and does a Pigeon but on a smaller scale.

Ezen Baklattan
CHAPTER 2: IN THE NICK OF TIME February 7-9: 'Blue' is the Warmest Color; 'Reality' Bites The first breakout sensation of Y4 is here. Despite a lack of recognition in its heroes, 'Blue and Gold' was carried by a clever marketing campaign, strong reviews, star appeal from Jake. T Austin of the beloved Voltron franchise, and something for audiences of all quadrants. The result? A massive $80m opening weekend. Endless Entertainment is certainly thrilled with the news after a slow start to Y4, but the real question is if it can face off against Stephanie and her Pokemon. With an A Cinemascore, it certainly does seem promising, however. Reality Shift did get a bit stung by the unexpected success of B&G, but still managed a decent opening in the high teens. The film scored a B+ Cinemascore and could carry itself to be a leggy hit. The less said about the hold of 'When a Stranger Calls,' the better. Blue and Gold - $81,347,459 (NEW) Reality Shift - $17,924,706 (NEW) The Mole - $9,757,043 (4th week) (-36.2%) Baseball Boy: Swing for the Fences - $6,405,613 (3rd week) (-32.1%) The Number One Dime - $6,114,692 (8th week) (-30.3%) The Prince of Egypt - $3,127,985 (10th week) (-25.7%) When a Stranger Calls - $3,067,526 (2nd week) (-72.6%) Dead Space - $1,128,204 (5th week) (-47.1%) Extrasensory - $1,037,425 (4th week) (-49.0%) Wolves of the Deep - $945,176 (8th week) (-42.4%) February 14-16: 'Pokemon' Blasts Off Again, 'Son' Disowned The first chapter of Pokemon enjoyed a massive lift from a lack of family friendly options and the thrill of seeing the game come to life. While the sequel lost several of those benefits (especially off the heels of 'Blue and Gold'), the film still managed a strong opening weekend, managing north of $100 million for its 3-day weekend. The film scored an A- Cinemascore, so it's possible that it could easily outleg its predecessor. 'Son of Rosemary' also did well at the box office thanks to the buzz around it....but it was not good buzz. Not only did the film crash and burn after an otherwise strong $7.1m Friday, but it also scored the dreaded F Cinemascore. Not even a 2x is set in stone. 'Blue and Gold' surprisingly managed to drop less than 50%, while Reality Shift was a premiere adult option over the long weekend, holding quite nicely. Pokemon: Rise of the Rockets - $105,618,258/$128,885,437 (NEW) Blue and Gold - $41,793,564/$51,107,042 (2nd week) (-48.6%) Son of Rosemary - $16,855,731/$19,376,895 (NEW) Reality Shift - $12,080,591/$14,720,179 (2nd week) (-32.6%) The Mole - $6,902,034/$8,244,383 (5th week) (-29.3%) The Number One Dime - $3,903,147/$5,155,082 (9th week) (-36.2%) Baseball Boy: Swing for the Fences - $3,880,493/$5,140,661 (4th week) (-39.4%) The Prince of Egypt - $1,861,674/$2,447,380 (11th week) (-40.5%) When a Stranger Calls - $1,045,926/$1,198,558 (3rd week) (-65.9%) Dead Space - $617,296/$745,998 (6th week) (-45.3%) February 21-23: Audiences Aren't Believers, 'Pokemon' Stays Champion Its hold wasn't the best there ever was, but 'Rise of the Rockets' actually managed to stay just barely over $40m for its second frame, a strong hold compared to the first film. Meanwhile, the two new openers, 'Frosted' and 'Imagine Dragons: The 3D Concert' floundered. 'Frosted' earned a C- Cinemascore in addition to its weak $5.8m opening frame, while 'Imagine Dragons' scored a solid B+ from fans, still not setting the world on fire with its $8.3m opening weekend. 3D Concerts don't sell like they used to. Meanwhile, 'Blue and Gold' and 'Reality Shift' continue to have impressive, leggy runs. Pokemon: Rise of the Rockets - $40,144,659 (2nd week) (-62.0%) Blue and Gold - $24,018,721 (3rd week) (-42.5%) Imagine Dragons: The 3D Concert - $8,299,654 (NEW) Reality Shift - $7,983,265 (3rd week) (-33.9%) Frosted - $5,836,342 (NEW) The Mole - $4,742,915 (6th week) (-31.3%) Son of Rosemary - $4,057,112 (2nd week) (-75.9%) The Number One Dime - $2,785,249 (10th week) (-28.6%) Baseball Boy: Swing for the Fences - $2,432,363 (5th week) (-37.3%) The Prince of Egypt - $1,145,820 (12th week) (-38.5%) February 28-March 2: Females Are Strong As Hell; 'Stories' Turned Lightly With the lack of Female oriented films, the adaptation of the short feminist story 'The Female Man' piqued interest, restoring the reputation of Ava DuVernay after her Y3 film which shall not be mentioned. The film scored an opening weekend of $28.3m. Stories From Eden failed to leave a similar impact due to iffy marketing, but still managed a respectable mid-teens opening. Both films earned a B Cinemascore. 'Pokemon' managed to recover a bit, but it is possible that 'Blue and Gold' may catch up to it soon. Both films are still eyeing totals north of $250m. The Female Man - $28,295,346 (NEW) Pokemon: Rise of the Rockets - $20,955,821 (3rd week) (-47.8%) Blue and Gold - $15,546,198 (4th week) (-35.3%) Stories from Eden - $14,781,406 (NEW) Reality Shift - $5,702,847 (4th week) (-28.6%) The Mole - $3,166,745 (7th week) (-33.2%) Imagine Dragons: The 3D Concert - $2,946,170 (2nd week) (-64.5%) Frosted - $2,339,865 (2nd week) (-59.9%) The Number One Dime - $2,110,359 (11th week) (-24.2%) Baseball Boy: Swing for the Fences - $1,758,600 (6th week) (-27.7%) 4 1
