Fullbuster
Saturday at the moment Die Hard 5 +108% The Impossible +128% Chinese Zodiac +208% Beautiful Creatures +116% Les Miserables +124%. I would say around 6.6 mln opening for Die Hard5. A bit disappointing after good first day. $6.6m? Indeed it's lower than expected, but not too much, still fine. Fullbuster
On Russian such movies called cranberry. Have no idea why. It means a bad quality movie filled with silly stereotypes and mistakes about russians and Russia. Or a film with intentionally bad attitude toward russia or russians usually combined with same stereotypes and mistakes. Most of the time they are laughable and even might be amusing. Still sometimes cranberry movie can easily become offensive. Projections for this weekend (might be a bit off) Die Hard 5 6.4-6.5m Beautiful Creatures 2.27m The Impossible 0.83m Les Miserables 0.82m Chinese Zodiac 0.71m Warm Bodies 0.5m Safe Haven 0.46m Parker 0.46 Django Unchained 0.44m Texas Chanisaw 0.43m The Master 107k Cant say much about Gladiators of Rome. Most likely 50%+ drop. What is the total for Parker and Chinese Zodiac?

Also Dark Skies (1000 screens), Zero Dark Thirty (500 screens), Last Stand (750 screens), Snitch (650 screens) and Hitchcock (520 screens). Saturday, February 23, is a national holiday. juni78ukr
Russian office of Fox International tried to correct some errors and mistakes but apparently they didnt care. Right now everyone is bashing the movie. Even most of the action fans do not like it. And just to tell how popular this franchise here. All four previous Die Hard movies yesterday were on prime TV channel. And the ratings were sky high. In Moscow share was between 20-25%. Updated estimates 1. Die Hard 5 $6.62m 2. Beautiful Creatures $2.26m 3. The Impossible $0.85m 4. Les Miserables $0.8m - 2.62m total 5. Chinese Zodiac $0.73m - 9.02m total 6. Safe Haven $0.56m Edited February 18, 2013 by juni78ukr

juni78ukr
Gladiators or Rome released here through our small independent distributors Luxor. They usually buy and release european films with moderate box office potential. Sometimes they release 2nd rated animated films from Europe or Asia like this one Gladiators of Rome is already the 3rd highest grossing among their releases. Only Upside Down and german Animals United grossed more. Midweek grosses for children films are very low here during the school year. Last week it grossed only 180-190k monday-wednesday.
