I'm trying to extrapolate if a worldwide run on Titanic is possible. Thanks for your help! I am a bit conservative predicting the movie, especially since Germany rarely delivers. TJB did 1,9M admissions following its original that has 27M admissions in total and is the biggest movie of all time. That one didn't really click and could just get 7% of its predecessor, that had a totally different tone though. BATB instead got 3,4M admissions which was quite good (65% of 5,2M). TLK now is the 8th biggest in Germany with 11,9M admissions. I won't follow TJB to get to just 800k but will probably not get close to the 65% of BATB which would lead to 7,7M. So it'll land anywhere between that. I for myself don't really know why it should do that much more than BATB in Germany cause that (to me) seemed to be close to the ceilling for Disney LA remakes as it's far above most others except Alice1 (close to 3M) that had Jonny Depp and 3D hype. But others are much conservative than I am. I'd say around 4M admissions might be realistic though MarkG (from InsideKino and probably the person with best knowledge about german BoxOffice) thinks it'll get to 6M to become the biggest movie of the year (though he calls himself Mr Optimistic...). So that's probably the range you should expect. TP might be around €9,5 (BATB had €9,6) and € will hopefully be better than 1,13$ (though Brexit might influence that too). TLK prediction in Germany: 4M to 6M admissions €38M to €57M (the higher one would be bigger than TLK94 with €56M) $43M to $64M I hope Germany might be infected by worldwide hype. 2

IndustriousAngel
Opening nights ... Iron Sky 2 had a strong Wednesday (with double features) but looking at today's presales that seems like a one-day wonder. Us gets the biggest screen but has awful presales, not good at all - even worse is German comedy Die Goldfische. The strongest opener (and strongest movie overall) at my theater is climbing doc Free Solo (evening sellout) which is hardly surprising (huge climbing community here in Innsbruck - don't know how it's doing elsewhere) Among holdovers, Green Book and Captain Marvel are strongest 4

Brainbug
Us only got 3 showtimes in my cinema for the opening week with 2 of those in very small auditoriums. Meanwhile a trashy nazi dinosaur parody film (Iron Sky: The Coming Race LOL) gets 4 auditoriums, including the 2nd and 3rd biggest. People, thats just one more indicator for impending doom. Its the visual dominant advrtising at isidekino.de too I guess they spend quite a bit on advertising. 8other trailers made me angry, lots of age 18y and age 16y material, including for games. CM's age 12y means, parents with 6y+ children are allowed into too. I heard a lot of sharp breaths and silent swore words each time. In my POV no material, incl 'cleaned up for younger', material should be allowed to be included, if its for an older age limit than the movie has people were buying the ticket for. el sid
And some Thursday actuals (source Blickpunkt:Film): The new releases: Free Solo (released in 294 theaters): 24k (!) Us (450): 18.2k - also a good start Die Goldfische (a German comedy, 478): 12k Iron Sky - The Coming Race (340): 4.1k → 40k admissions OW in the first trend Head Full of Honey (311): ?k → only 6k OW The holdovers: Captain Marvel: 26k (actuals last Thursday 45k) Green Book: 7k (12k) E.g. in mathäser Us gets also only medium-sized cinema halls but reservations are too rather looking ok than very good. Probably WOM will help a bit later. Therefor Free Solo gets dumped. This movie which has nice reservation numbers even at 5pm and 11am gets only these two showtimes over the whole weekend . I heard that it was planned (also) as an event release but come on...these climbing docus - especially with such reviews and an Oscar - find their audience in Bavaria.
