efialtes76
Opening day here ... Elysium will win the weekend easily if I go by my theater; KA2 and PJ2 underwhelming ... after Elysium, "The Bling Ring" is the best opener here, really surprising - it's only got a limited release but at the rate it's selling it should end inside the Top10. Kick-Ass only sold 200,000 admissions in Germany...

IndustriousAngel
no trend yet for DM2 ... it's really close to 3mil admissions by now and might cross it this weekend, only the 3rd film this year to do so.

IndustriousAngel
ok, with this drop, DM2 will need another weekend to reach 3mil. PJ2 opens lower than part 1; KA2 about the same as KA. Everything seems to drop between 50 and 60% after basically staying flat last week. Summer is back ...
IndustriousAngel
Final trends look a bit better for most movies, especially Smurfs2 (175k would be about a 45% drop) edit: And final numbers are better than expected, more than 200k for Smurfs and better holds for everything else too. DM2 very close to 3mil by Sunday, should cross it on weekdays. Edited August 19, 2013 by IndustriousAngel

IndustriousAngel
First weekend trend for Germany: Wide openers "Pain&Gain" and "Feuchtgebiete" (Charlotte Roche bestseller adaption - "Wetlands") lead the pack, P&G 250k admissions, Feuchtgebiete 225k. Elysium and Smurfs2 on #3 and #4 with 150k each. edit: Feuchtgebiete should have the higher PTA, and I also suspect the total will be higher; with this opening and strong weekdays it could easily get 1mil admissions. DM2 trends towards 75k admissions, should be at 3.1mil admissions after the weekend - 2nd biggest 2013 movie, overtaking Hangover3! congratulations! IndustriousAngel
Final weekend trend: P&G - 260k admissions Feuchtgebiete - 225k Smurfs2 - 200k Elysium - 175k TLR - 105k PJ2 - 90k DM2 - 90k GU2 - 45k Those are really good holds for Smurfs and DM2! And with holidays still in power and rainy weather throughout the week, strong weekdays for family films will follow.

The coming weekend is extremely crowded - R.I.P.D., Mortal Instruments, WtM and Planes all open wide, so basically new stuff for everyone. Will be hard for holdovers but it should be a good weekend for theaters! MI should be very frontloaded and I guess WtM will take the weekend crown, with Planes as the black horse.
