Fullbuster
With the exchange rates of June 2014 $50m today would be worth $70m, it's pretty shocking, and sad.

Fullbuster
I will try to find that and put it on page 1, I know someone already gave us the numbers, it was Goffe if I remember well. Interesting numbers from FilmeB (2013) There are 5,570 municipalities in Brazil and only 370 of them have at least 1 theater/cinema. In the country there are 698 theaters and 2645 screens. 848 of them are 3D screens and 3 of them are 4D screens while there are 7 IMAX screens. Cynosure
Thanks. With the real collapsing like that against the dollar in recent months, significant differences are bound to appear sooner or later in the different rankings.
Fullbuster
Thanks. With the real collapsing like that against the dollar in recent months, significant differences are bound to appear sooner or later in the different rankings. Indeed. We already can see it with FF7 : it could pass Twilight BD2 or be slightly behind but its gross in dollars will be clearly inferior (around $35m vs $54m for Twilight). Mockingjay Raphael
Dollar is at R$3,01 now!
Fullbuster
Dollar is at R$3,01 now! The highest point was on March 20 : $1 = R$3.29 Now it's R$3.02 It's great news for The Avengers 2. However it was R$2.23 on June 16 2014 so it's still greatly disadvantageous compared to last year. Fullbuster
When The Avengers was released in April 2012 $1 = R$1.9 The Brazilian Real was very strong Now the dollar is 58% stronger than 3 years ago With such a monetary gap there is absolutely no chance for TA2 to compete with TA1 To give you an exemple : FF7 should be around $30m this weekend in Brazil, but with the same exchange rates than in April 2012 it would be at $47m Can you believe it? That's terrible, Brazil is really a mess right now! Edited April 17, 2015 by Yoshi

Fullbuster
Mmmm Star Wars VII will be interesting to follow in Brazil given I have no idea about its recognition and popularity in this country..And Brazil doesn't to be keen on SF movies, look at the failure of Interstellar last year o_o

Emirazza
We can't even track it We won't know anything until the day after the release Why?
Fullbuster
Why? Because there is nobody to do it, and no numbers from the movie chains. Brazil being a developing country with a still relatively small movie market this kind of data is probably far from being a priority for them, I can understand this but it's a bit frustrating. I know daily numbers exist in Brazil, but you need to pay to get access to them.
