JOURNEY TO BETHLEHEM | 11.10.2023 | Sony | final gross: $6,820,796

Recommended Posts

Logline: A young woman carrying an unimaginable responsibility. A young man torn between love and honor. A jealous king who will stop at nothing to keep his crown. This live-action Christmas musical celebration for the entire family, weaves classic Christmas melodies into new pop songs in a music-infused retelling of the timeless story of Mary and Joseph and the birth of Jesus.

This trailer has been out for 4 days and nobody here even knew it happened. It's also got a whopping 29K views in 4 days. That is...almost astonishing in terms of how little traction this has lmao

Well, it's fall and Halloween season...I wouldn't expect anyone to WANT to see a trailer for this til Nov 1.  At least among its possible audience b/c it's almost wrong to start looking at Christmas stuff when you haven't even officially left summer yet...

Like people don't know what the film is about.

And I shudder at what the new pop songs will be like.

Only thing that appeals to me at all is Bandaras as King Herod. but I got a feeling even that will be soft pedeld for family audiences. Herod was totally insane at this time, even leaving out what he may or may not have done concerning "The Slaughter of the Innocents" (which  historiaclly is pretty dubious).

10 bucks says Sony will change the title at the last minute like they did with Gran Turismo, Big George Foreman, and that Whitney Houston movie I forgot the name of.

Hey, let's face it, this is niche film made for the. "Faith" audience. Not the case with the films you mention.
