I'd think the reverse.  With the election coming, everyone will be sick of yet more Trump, and this will get buried...

 

But, this is why box office is fun!

This is unlikely to make much money for aforementioned reasons (blind Trump supporters won't want to see a biopic that paints him in an unfavorable light, the majority of the public who can't stand him already don't want to pay to see a biopic about someone they wish would disappear from all public life, its studio is weak, etc.). Pretty sure the goal is to try and mount an awards campaign with the resources they have, though how much the Academy will be willing to turn someone so reviled all over the world into an Oscar-nominated movie character (even with some of the questionable public figures that have been given such treatment over the years) remains to be seen.

I’m interested in seeing this but I also think that a Dumb Money-esque run is the best it can hope for at the box office.
