Ok, the Avengers trailers have been looking great, and the reviews just further proves on how amazing the film is, and it's going to be huge!It currently has an RT score of 97% and I don't see it dropping less than 95% after all the reviews are accounted for. Before The Avengers, The Dark Knight had the highest RT score for a Live-Action superhero film (The Incredibles, animated, scored 97%) with a score of 94%.With the finale coming up in just 3 months, and coming off from a great film, will The Dark Knight rises have a better RT score than The Avengers or will The Avengers be champ for this year, and of all Superhero films?[Note: Or do you think The Amazing Spider-Man will be a great quality film, despite with how Spider-Man 3 scored?]

They both have their purposes. Percentage gives you a general idea of whether it's likely a good or bad movie. Average rating tells you just how good or bad it might be.

Heaps of films have percentages in the higher 80's or early 90's with way lower average ratings than other films in that range and it deceives people. It really comes down to the average rating in the end IMO.

I tend to agree. Social Network has a lower percentage than Avengers, but its average rating is off the charts compared to where Avengers is sitting right now. Odds are Avengers' average rating isn't going up over the next 200 reviews.

Average score isn't perfect either. Quite a few reviews have no score. Unless RT forces each reviewer to give score both percentage and average score are important.
