EDWARD NADNY DEAD!!

Earlier today, Edward Nadny, CEO, founder, and owner of Blankments Productions, jumped off the 45th floor (including the mezzanine) of the company's headquarters during a boardroom meeting. Leaving no will, his 87% holding of the company stock will become common stock in the beginning of Year 9. The company's board members, left in disarray and needing to find a new CEO, have announced something unprecedented in film history; they will be delaying all Year 8 films to the following year, perhaps even cancelling them! In response to the news, Patton Oswalt ranted on Twitter, DC Entertainment pulled out of its agreement with Blankments, and will be releasing only Green Lantern this year, and Chuck Norris, Liam Neeson, and Clark Gregg bought out the rights to their franchise from Blankments, and will be creating a new production company, Badass Films, which will only release Chuck Norris and Liam Neeson movies. The question remains on if this year's Chuck Norris and Liam Neeson will be released or not, but for now, the nation will mourn the loss of Edward Nadny.

I swear if a Cupcakes movie is released in Year 10, I can trace it back to this.

Potential Oscar Contender Seeks Home

Following the suicide of Edward Nadny and the hold on Blankments Productions' yearly films, there is one film left without a distributor: David Lynch and Baz Luhrrman's legendary new film Pączki są trupy Zbyt Wraz z Dominujących Morsów (Donuts Are Zombies Too Along With the Dominant Walruses). Luhrrmann and Lynch are currently shopping the film around for a distributor, in hopes it'll get one soon so it can make its June 15 release date.

The brave one possible delayMillennium films are considering moving the brave one as the story it is based on cannot be found

I'm imagining that scene from SpongeBob where everyone's running around looking for the name and they just yell "WE THREW OUT HIS NAME!" but in a movie studio about a screenplay.

Following their acquisition of the rights to several infamous anime, Star Platinum have announced two new projects to be released later in the year.

The first is the heavily rumoured adaptation of the first novel in Jim Butcher's 'Dresden Files', named Storm Front. The Dresden Files has the possibility of being a lucrative, long-running franchise for Star Platinum, should the first instalment hit it big. And Star Platinum are doing their utmost efforts to make it a hit, with an Easter Weekend opening and big names Robert Downey Jr and Jessica Chastain headlining. This film reunites Downey with his often collaborator Shane Black, who is directing.

The second project is the first in a planned trilogy of films based on the popular manga Death Note, directed by Guillermo Del Toro. This film has caused some controversy on the internet, with the casting of Zac Efron as the lead, Light Yagami and what is perceived as an 'americanisation' of the series, due to the new setting of New York and the changed names of several characters. While the presence of Del Toro has pacified some naysayers and Efron recently gave a interview citing his love of the series and his wish to break away from his 'pretty boy' image, Star Platinum are noticeably making him keep a low profile in their marketing effort, instead concentrating on the fight between Kira and his rival, L, played by Marc Warren. L is widely considered the most beloved character in Death Note and anime in general, yet, much like the character himself, Warren's portrayal is being kept largely under wraps, with many of scenes filmed behind closed doors. However, insiders are describing the performance as 'something incredible' and there are rumours that Star Platinum may push for a Supporting Actor Oscar for him. A viral marketing campaign was recently started on twitter, encouraging users to 'hunt down Kira/L' through a series of puzzles. At the end of their effort, viewers are presented with a special pre-release photo of either Kira or L, along with a short soundbite.

There have been several rumours flying about involving the several anime Star Platinum recently acquired the rights to. in particular, there have been rumours flying about involving an adaptation of the hit series Code Geass to be released later this year. However, the CEO of Star Platinum, Joseph Jostar has denied these rumours claiming that, while they do have plans for an eventual adaptation of Code Geass, and the other properties acquired, it won't be until 'next year at the earliest'. However, he did hint at the release of an animated film this year, although he didn't outright confirm it. Whether this will be original or an adaptation of an existing film is unknown.

BLANKMENT'S "DONUT MOVIE" FINDS A PLACE ON ALPHA PICTURES' TABLE

Alpha Pictures recently picked up the rights to Blankments Productions' "Donuts Are Zombies Too Along With The Dominant Walruses," following company issues about Edward Nadny's suicide and films being pushed back to Year 9. "We are giving our thoughts and hopes to Blankments, and hopefully they can recover from the death of a studio icon," one representative told us yesterday. The foreign surrealist film, directed by both David Lynch and Baz Lurhman, received mixed reviews at the 2nd Annual CAYOM Film Festival, however Alpha Pictures is hoping to make it a hit with audiences. Their current release plan involves a gradual platform plan, with the main goal of spreading word of mouth across the country and hopefully getting a good reception in wide release. As Alpha Pictures says, "Either people will say, 'This movie is both funny and great, you should go see it" or 'This movie is extremely weird, you need to see it to believe it.' I'm happy with any of those reactions."

"My Heart Will Go On" would not be eligible for Best Song, because it has to be an original song. In fact, dont try and rip off the original Titanic by having the same song, but come up with your own Titanic song by coming up with your own name. Hell, even try writing your own lyrics.

How about "My Heart Will Go Down With The Ship"? That could be great

ALPHA PICTURES TO ESTABLISH NEW INDEPENDENT FILM DIVISION

Alpha Pictures has established a new company subsidiary called Progressive Arthouse, which according to a company statement, "Hopes to attract the attention of up-and-coming indie filmmakers, who are trying to present their art to the world." There are currently three films under production. The first one, Much Too Soon is directed by Peter Strickland and stars Justin Timberlake. While Timberlake already have a big ego, both men hope to present the idea of "love and loneliness" in a surrealist way that is different from any romantic drama. A release date is currently to be announced, however prime slots for Much Too Soon are September Y8 and January Y9.

Other planned films include Swept Away (directed by Noah Baumbach) and an as-of-yet-untitled Hollywood dramedy (directed by Sofia Coppola).
