jerem4502
I see a decrease in 2013 : Intouchables won't be there, same thing for The Artist or Astérix.French movies seem weak this year.2013 will not be so bad. The program is huge. But many French films will be shot in English. This will encourage foreign sales. To make a quick list of French blockbusters that come out in many countries:Mobius with Jean Dujardin, Cecile de France, Tim Roth ... Spy movie. Great potential.Jappeloup with Guillaume Canet, Marina Hands .... Drama that follows the story of a horse that will go to the Olympic games. The scum of the day directed by Michel Gondry, starring Romain Duris, Audrey Tautou (Amelie), Gad Elmaleh, Omar Sy (The Untouchables), Alain Chabat (2 Asterix, Marsupilami) ... Especially large cast and enormous potential.Chinese puzzle directed by Cédric Klapisch, starring Audrey Tautou and Romain Duris. After Auberge Espagnole and Russian dolls.Malavita directed by Luc Besson starring Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer, Tommy Lee Jones ...The Extravagant travel prodigious young TS Spivet directed by Jean Pierre Jeunet with Kyle Catlett, Callum Keith Rennie, Helena Bonham Carter ...Blood Ties by Guillaume Canet with Marion Cotillard, Zoe Saldana, Clive Owen, Billy Crudup, Matthias Schoenaerts ...Alone with Cluzet (The Untouchables), Guillaume Canet, Virginia Efira ... A drama on the Vendée Globe.Beauty and the Beast directed by Christophe Gans (Brotherhood of the Wolf, Silent Hill) with Vincent Cassel and Léa Seydoux ....Grace of Monaco (biopic) directed by Olivier Dahan starring Nicole Kidman (the Oscars 2014?)Zulu directed by Jérôme Salle (Largo Winch) with Orlando Bloom and Forest Whitaker.....The program is huge. And there's other films yet. Few comedies this year.

Few comedies this year. Some of them are promsing, but you say "few comedies this year", it's kind of a problem because the most successful French movies are comedies, French people love them, I'm not sure they will buy this change. From a personal point of view I think it's a good thing to have something different but I don't know if my fellow frenchmen and frenchwomen will think the same. dashrendar44
LesMis will not be big in France since it was announced that it will only be released in subtitled original english version. No dubbing since 90% of the movie dialogue is sung in english and they don't want to hire french singers to sing the french version of the songs... POLYLOVE
Any predictions for Les Miserables?
dashrendar44
Les Miserables might do a tad less than Sweeney Todd.(1 046 256 admissions) Les Miserables should do 700000-900000 admissions at best because it will be only released in original version with french subtitles whereas Sweeney Todd was available in a french dubbed version and the main draw was the Tim Burton/Johnny Depp classic bill.
