A Marvel Fanboy
That is a very detailed report by Variety. Some minor errors or inaccuracies though. If the news is true (it 99% is, at this point), CNCAC (its jointly bodies with ChinaNationalCultureGroup, to be exact) will be both the second foreign film importing licensee and the third foreign revenue-sharing film distribution licensee. Huaxia Film is the current second distribution licensee but they do not import movies. It is unclear what kind of foreign films CNCAC will be handling. Hollywood big movies (or Hollywood smaller/indie ones) or small (and more artistic) Europe/Korea/Asian films or both ? We dont know yet. Either way, it most likely would take a few years for CNCAC to grow into a real competitor of CFC, if that is ever the intention of the CMP top decision makers in the Propaganda Ministry. Many were expecting a third distribution license besides CFC and Huaxia, with speculations it either would be SMG (state-owned) or Huayi Bros or another private film distributor. But now suddenly a new importing body is born, which is, of course, also a state company.

A Marvel Fanboy
A little early, but some rough guesses for the 3days wkn: [*]Peabody --- 55m --- NEW [*]Monuments men --- 37m ---NEW [*]NFS --- 35m --- -55% --- 355m $58m [*]BCTI --- 17m --- -56% --- 76m [*]On the Way --- 15m --- NEW [*]Justin and the Knights of Valour --- 10m --- NEW Considering loose competition, literally I am predicting NFS to reach $60m before next weekend. It had a good slot with no real opponent. And WOM has been solid. Many probably did not notice, but the movie now already is the biggest March release in China, along with holding the March OW record. First March film to cross 300m. This week is another slow one, looking to hang on the fence of 300m or slightly over 300m, depending on newcomers. I remember that movie. It bombed here in Spain last Fall, even though it was nominated to best animated picture at the Spanish version of the Oscars and Antonio Banderas was the voice of one of the main characters
