I am wondering this too. How does screen allocation work in China? Transformers is now kicking Flash's butt, will it really lose its screens to Flash this weekend due to previous agreements? Would love to see Transformers get closer to that 100m mark thanks to this festival

Cinema Exibitors has control over screen. An empty theatre of Flash will move to more demanding film. For OW, A film might have the most screens/shows but with each passing day performance, screens are adjusted among the strong holders. (Not like we are letting a film die but if there is audience there is shows too)

Imported Films are only blocked on Spring Festival &October Holidays. Some says July &Dec are black out months but MI7 &Barbie are releasing on July.

The major problem in China is fastburn. Hard to find legs unless reception are exceptions (Need a score Douban Score &Film must have GA reach)

Heard Lost in the Star is the really good movie and let many women reconsider the potential risk of marriage like family violence ,it’s eventually become some kind of social topic ,that’s why is performance so well

As for the movie performence well in China usually is because it’s lead to some discuss of real world social problem:

like Wolf warrior II is talking when China become one of most powerful country in the world,how we treat our people overseas;

Dying to Survive is lead the discuss of moral and legal contradict and medical-care system problem;

Hi mom is lead the discuss of current broken family relationship problem in China(the contradict between parents of kids are real serious social problem in China now)

These movie discussed the problem real exist in the life

USA’s highest grossing film is always Superhero/Star Wars/Avatar/Jurassic World/Hunger Game..It’s all franchise/series after 2000s,China is like 80s US,we don’t have many local franchise doing well  here,only The Wandering Earth and Decetive China town.

Finally watch "Full River Red" - like to highlight some things I observed.

  • Zhang Da was talented but his plans troubled a lot killing his accompanies even Zither
  • I loved Lord He way of breaking the plot leaks and his blue/red buttoned knife (a simple comparison with Matrix will help as decide whether you will live or not depending on what colour you choose)
  • Lord Wu... Gold 🪙 batch couldn't save him
  • Song s rank upgrade was insane - deputy to commander, commander to director (just wow)
  • Quite annoying was the confidential letter, that language barrier but at the end, it was something else to do
  • Grand Chancellor is undefeatable (False body, double body, lady combat and Lord He)
  • Zither voice trap and winning Lord He belief ~ (atleast was hoping that  Zither was good at combat) but Lord He desire gave a good end
  • Anyways, I love Song Character very much
  • Talking about all in one, that poem of General Yue was quite patriotic.
  • Heart 1
