PR what ? It dropped more than FF6 on first Monday.

 

And nope, FF6 wont sail past MOS. It will be gone from theaters on Thursday. 180M 3-days opening, less than 400M finish. Worst legs ever in history.

FF6 10% screens count left on 8.8. 

 

Maybe 5% left over the weekend.

138M 2nd week, -51% drop, 418M cume

 

Another 50ish% weekly drop, or 60~70m week, will give it cume of 467M ~~ 488M after 3 weeks.

 

After that, it will struggle its way to 500M for the rest two weeks of its five weeks run.

 

So 500M $80M may happen and may not happen. Hard to say at the moment. We will see.

MOS's second weekend dropped 55% from OW by only 16% screens.

Because MoS first Saturday was not as high as 70M. And MoS 2nd Saturday didnt have four new releases (only one). Anyway, we will see.

FF6 2nd Saturday (21.5M) also didnt beat MoS 2nd Saturday (24M) with much more screens (24% VS 16%), despite much higher first Sat (66m VS 50m).

ROMCOMs are the most popular local films right now. They are on fire this year. Local tentpoles in this genre already get scheduled from coming Chinese VD to next year's VD.

Critics pan didnt cause the bad legs. Poor quality and market positioning did. Teen girls driven movies usually have poor legs.
