Technically yes. Fact is it is also(and mostly) celebrated by couples.

 

11.11 --- all "1" --- single's day (non-official holiday, similar to VD and Chinese VD)

 

If you go for a 11:11am show on 11.11 and if you are single, you may get free tickets ... most cinemas and all kinds of stores (online or not) across the country give different kinds of discounts on SD for promotions. It is (one of) the most strongest day for retail business. Similar to Cyber Monday in NA, but on a much bigger scale.

 

Last year, Taobao/Tmall (similar to Amazon/Ebay) alone sold $3B goods on SD. It is said to do 5B this year.

There is no doubt EP is a good film.  I watched both Thor 2 and EP at the same time last Wednesday when Thor 2 released in the UK.  I personally like EP slightly than Thor 2.

EP ---- 22M ----- 108M/$17.4M (6 days)
