She had a nothing part though, there's literally like 1 line that's longer than 1 second. Obviously it's a supporting role but the problem most of us have is that it's just not impressionable at all.

Sure, she was supporting, but there's absolutely zero anything remarkable about her performance.

She was incredibly believable in SLP. When you watch the film, you don't think you are watching an actress play a role, you think you are watching Cooper's mom. That makes it worth a nomination.

 Fair enough....just a difference of opinion. If you are talking about memorable being a yardstick to judge by, then Val Kilmer not being nominated for Tombstone is a travesty. It still pisses me of to thid day....20 years later.

Am I the only one who found Amour to be incredibly beautiful to look at? I mean, camera movement was minimal, but the images were just incredibly composited, and the viewers eye has time to observe almost every detail of every shot because of the extraordinarily long shots.
