How big were the theaters that showed The Lion King in 1994?

You just answered the biggest mystery of my life. Thank you! I've always wondered how the heck did it manage to get nearly 1M average... Never thought about ticket prices lol.

I know! I would NEVER have thought of that. I was sitting there like... maybe they have 50 screens?

Tickets for the Radio City shows were either $25 or $21 (not sure what the difference was). I have no idea what the regular shows cost at the El Capitan, but they hosted a benefit premiere with tickets ranging from $150 to $100,000 (!!!). I wouldn't think that would be counted among the normal grosses, but I don't know the ins and outs of what counts and what doesn't.
