I know! I would NEVER have thought of that. I was sitting there like... maybe they have 50 screens?

They're very large theatres and had very high prices.

Same size as current average sized (non Imax) theaters. I don't remember seeing smaller theater rooms that I see nowadays.

Radio City Music Hall and the El Capitan Theater were it's two premiere spots.

And FYI Radio City seats 6000, and El Capitan seats 1000.

Tickets for the Radio City shows were either $25 or $21 (not sure what the difference was). I have no idea what the regular shows cost at the El Capitan, but they hosted a benefit premiere with tickets ranging from $150 to $100,000 (!!!). I wouldn't think that would be counted among the normal grosses, but I don't know the ins and outs of what counts and what doesn't.
