CJohn
Wait... since when The Book Thief turned into a big movie. It is even opening over August I will also assume that Frozen will return to the top 5 (hopefully top 3) on Saturday.

It is even opening over August I will also assume that Frozen will return to the top 5 (hopefully top 3) on Saturday.I was expecting that. I saw The Book Thief's trailer before every movie I watched in the last 30 days (even the second time I saw Frozen...) And it opens everywhere. I will watch it tonight. Let's see how busy the theatre is...

CJohn
Frozen's drop is hilariously bad. Kinda expected since Christmas holidays are over, but still...
Hernan Gonzalez
According to boxoffice.com The Book Thief did $1.1 M. and that was enough to lead this weekend in Spain...

CJohn
12 Years a Slave dropped almost 50% Kinda normal since last weekend it was still holidays, but still bad. Wolf of Wall Street had a strong opening, considering the number and time of the shows (most theaters had it starting at 8:30 PM, too early). Frozen dropped 74%
peludo
Some exhibitors have started an initiative in order to take people to theaters. Every Wednesday until next April 15th, tickets will cost 3.90€ (about 5.3$), nearly half of usual price. Yesterday was the first Wednesday with this price. Result: 136% more tickets sold and a 65% more in gross than last Wednesday.
CJohn
Portuguese theaters need to start doing that.

Hernan Gonzalez
I hope this offer can stay permanently and not just until April 15th I think they want to try it for a short period first to check if it does not affect the amount of full price tickets sold during the weekends on that period...
