CJohn
29 minutes ago, ScareLol said: Actuals are out. After drops hard from estimates (€200K less). It only grossed €325K between Saturday and Sunday so frontloaded as hell. Shang-Chi couldn't surpass The Conjuring 3 OW and Malignant did good all things considered I fully expect a drop over 70% here on the 2nd weekend here for After 3. The movie did nothing on Saturday and Sunday, and the final 5 day total was already quite below After 2 (~39.500 tickets sold vs ~27.500 tickets sold). The market is still very weak here. Free Guy wasn't the breakout most expected (just 20.000 tickets sold on OW) and Shang-Chi opened with exactly the same as Black Widow, Tenet and The Suicide Squad (around ~37.500 tickets sold) which means the market isn't improving. OWs aren't getting bigger. The biggest OW by far was F9 with 80.000 tickets sold in the first 4 days, and nothing even comes close to that as you can see considering the next movies on the list are After 2, Tenet, Shang-Chi, Black Widow and The Suicide Squad. ScareLol
DUNE PRE-SALES (D-6) - 246 tickets sold in 4 theatres (10 showtimes) This is looking great. Shang-Chi sold 223 tickets on D-4 so being up 20 tickets with 2 days less of tracking is encouraging for the film Edited September 12, 2021 by ScareLol 1

Still this looks quite good.

It could probably happen that it skews big cities like Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia Edited September 12, 2021 by ScareLol

Let's see the drop next weekend and this Wednesday to have a better picture I think should do 7.5M at least. From 2nd FRI of 340K I would expect 1.25M weekend and 3.8M total. Should add 4M after that.

The target market of Dune is Europe, it must do well here.

ScareLol
Malignant goes up to #2 on Saturday and After 3 is starting to lose steam. Only one entry on the Top 10: French comedy 'Le Sens de la Famillie'. Gunpowder Milkshake was released this weekend and couldn't crack the Top 10

That gives €948K for this weekend and Saturday was more packed at my theatres than Friday so that looks extremely low Edited September 12, 2021 by ScareLol

ScareLol
DUNE PRE-SALES (D-4) - 340 tickets sold in 4 theatres (12 showtimes) (+43 tickets since last update 24 hours ago) I'm doing so many mistakes lately, I'm sorry. I've messed up the day count for Dune and it's now D-6 (246 tickets), D-5 (297 tickets) and D-4 (340 tickets). Shang-Chi 4 days before release sold 223 tickets so Dune is up 117 tickets but could be more frontloaded on pre-sales than Shang-Chi. Let's wait for the jump on Thursday 0AM (D-1) and Friday 0AM (D-0) Warner is spending some coins on marketing. Here's a gigantic ad on Chamberi District (Glorieta de Bilbao), Madrid

This exploded big time. Shang-Chi sold 80 tickets on D-3 and was at 303 tickets. Let's hope this can hit +1000 tickets on D-0 Edited September 13, 2021 by ScareLol 2

ScareLol
DUNE PRE-SALES (D-2) - 747 tickets sold in 4 theatres (36 showtimes) (+234 tickets since last update 24 hours ago) It's practically doing 2x Shang-Chi (377 tickets sold two days before release) and the jump was 3x Shang-Chi (74 vs 234). A lot of shows were added and this have 7 more showtimes than SC. I'm a bit worried that one of the theatres sold 455 tickets (the best of the pandemic for that theatre) but the other three are lagging behind SC, BW and F9. Capacity is there tho to have a great opening. Edited September 14, 2021 by ScareLol
ScareLol
DUNE PRE-SALES (D-1) - 965 tickets sold in 4 theatres (37 showtimes) (+218 tickets since last update 24 hours ago) This was a slow day. 3 theatres (PLF ones) added only 50 tickets and that has me worried. One of them (Plaza Loranca 2) is underperforming by a large margin only selling 112 tickets for the film (numbers similar to Mortal Kombat and Demon Slayer). F9 is the biggest pre-seller during the pandemic for those 4 theatres combined with 1.100 tickets. Dune should surpass that. Let's see if the film explodes like Shang-Chi did the last day Edited September 15, 2021 by ScareLol 6
