A. And now, after you know something about the cast, this movie is even more scary (both the oldest daughter and Caroline are now dead, Caroline died at only 13ish) But damn the chill factor in this thing, I'm getting goosebumps now just thinking about it.

Just saw it for the first time, and you know what? It's actually pretty chilling. Not a really scary movie (it plays like a Spielberg family adventure from the 80s which makes sense if you're familiar with the production), but it doesn't need to be as it keeps your attention while having intriguing-to-watch characters. I really enjoyed it. A+

Craig T. Nelson's voice just kept on flashing me to The Incredibles lol.

Pretty great film. Although it's a little confusing when they are moving since they say that they don't plan to sleep in the house but then in a motel and then we see them sleeping in the house and then there's the final battle then they go to the motel.

Poltergeist is considered a slight horror classic. Most interest in the flick comes from either the "Curse" upon those involved with the production or the rumor that Spielberg actually directed a horror film. It certainly feels like a Spielberg film at points, but yet, a lot of the finesse Spielberg brings is lacking in Hooper's direction and it just feels disappointing in that regard. Jerry Goldsmith's score is good and Craig T. Nelson is excellent in it. Yet, it just feels like it's been done better in other films, especially ones that don't feature such a horrendous third act. Poltergeist set the stage for a lot of modern horror films, but unfortunately, doesn't really hold up today. B-
